Show me in any text or book written about her that what you said is true ? In her own book she wrote she did NOT of say that or has it ever been proven . So back up your statement from her words or another book . False statement .
For those who are unaware of Shirley Temple, she sadly passed away on February 10th, 2014 at the age of 85. She will be forever remembered as a famous child stars during the Great Depression. My mother told me about her when I was 8 years old while she was still around. I was initially impressed, and was absolutely adored by this girl's singing, dancing, and acting. It's very upsetting she is no longer around, but she is still remember as a beloved actress in the 1930s. I'm now 17 years old, and I love singing and dancing, and I still remember what my mother told me 9 years ago. :)
I'm more amazed by her facility with lyrics and language than her dancing, in the first few musical numbers she's around three yet she handles the words with ease. By age 5 she was becoming a polished professional and her love of performing showed. I've read that she was a very quick study with dance steps, I think she's very very bright period. I look forward to sharing her movies with my granddaughter :)
Alot of little girls love to dance and wear pretty dresses. She probably didnt mind most of the time. Theres an interview with shirley from a few years ago she said her mother was very good to her and supportive and had a watchful eye over her while she was acting. She loved her mother. She seemed like a happy child too
The younger you are when you start learning something the easier you typically learn then say if you were 13 you’d have a different time learning compared to 3-5 year old
I loved Shirley Temple as a child and about twenty years later, I introduced my little cousin, who is now 15 and she loved her too. She is greatly missed and when she died, I was sad, but on the TCM Remembers tribute, when they showed her last, I cried. I really did not think I would miss her so much even though I never met her. R.I.P. Shirley, you are greatly missed
Sammy Davis Jr was exactly the same! He started @ age 3 & was one of the very best tap dancers back in the day, self taught & was equally very intelligent, gifted & cute in his own right! I watched his 60 Anniversary Celebrations Show years ago & learnt so much regarding how talented & gifted he actually was, not to mention, how loved & respected he was by countless within the US & abroad. When he died, there were messages of sympathy pouring in from all corners of the world. He was a very sweet, kind & good person, who never did any wrong toward anyone within his lifetime. The sad thing is however, you don't hear many think about this fact, let alone talk about it! Fun fact, there were & are many African-American talents, who are superb tap dancers, yet, they're so underrated! Many were self taught from early childhood, not to mention, superb musicians too! Many used to dance side by side with the new Irish immigrants who lived in NYC, Seneca Village & they all got on very well & they'd even fall in love & have beautiful children together. Those were much happier times, until the Seneca Village massacre took place & countless lives were lost, destroyed & torn apart. I read that because of intentionally systemic & widespread racist ideologies back in the day, the destruction of that village was done with intent. It's a truly shameful history/past.
Shirley was my idol growing up in the 70's and 80's! I was a tap dancer, I wore the same 'sissy' dresses, and insisted my hair be curled in ringlets like hers, all the way until the age of 10! When I had my baby girl in 1997, she was a 'Mini-Shirley' too! Thank you for inspiration on little girls 86 years later!:)
@@pamelamark3609 Beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. Different people see beauty within different people & in different things. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, of course. When i travelled the world, i saw the most incredibly beautiful children, from every background/ethnic group/within all of the world's continents. Beauty is "everywhere", but we just have to really open our eyes to see it & to appreciate it. We don't only see true beauty within Caucasian/European ethnic groups, but within ALL ethnic groups & this becomes very visually obvious, when we travel to distant lands.
Shirley Temple was a beautiful, hard working, actress. She single handily saved the studio she worked for. Remember there were no child labor laws at they time and how very young she was and realize she worked longer and harder for years than most adults. And yes in 1930 there was racism in the film industry as in a great deal of society. She didn't like being separated from Mr. Bojangles when they traveled by whites only policy when she was just a little girl. She deplored racism as an adult.
Her dresses were too short for a lot of reasons. She made to look younger and was sexualy exploited even in those days. You can see her in the movie, Baby Burlesk. It was too bad. Then her last movie was a copy of "Oz" and it failed.
No matter how many octaves the best female singer can reach (oh Whitney), or which shade of violet your eyes are on the most beautiful woman ever (oh Elizabeth)....nobody can top America's Princess! Thank you for the wonderful clips! A National Treasure! Fare thee well
A child were free to be just that? lol they sexualised her in so many song, she had to work a lot, had not time to play and had to act like an adult in some songs... stollen childhood.
Actually, Sammy Davis Jr was a superb child prodigy star & equally cute, intelligent, excellent & a talented dancer & very gifted performer/singer/musician, but you don't hear much about him. I wonder why?! If anyone watches Sammy Davis's 60th Anniversary Celebrations Show, they'll learn more about him within 3 hours, than they'd ever have learnt within a lifetime. It's so sad, because some people, are very unfairly underrated, when they ought not be. It's very much worth the watch!
Jessica P She was not only no worse for the wear and hard work if there was inappropriate behavior she would have said so as an adult. Truly a marvelous God fearing person .
This cutie might have brought happiness to millions of people at the era of depression hit hard. (In nineteen thirties & fourteens with world wars ) Such intelligent & adorable kid...
I was absolutely obsessed with her for a few years when I was little. She was so talented, it’s really sad she had to go through so much in the industry :(
A public treasure......always loved her and ‘smilin’ Bill Robinson together......perfect in singing and dancing, taking cues off each other. Thank you both for all the years of wonder and pleasure.
RIP Shirley, I will always love you and will never forget you. You have touched so many lives and you have truly left your mark on the world. Goodbye...
i always loved watching her old movies...never has been a child actor as good, never willl be....seems anyone, everyone can get in movies these days and the movies rarely make it big, just too many too fast.
I am not sure what the elderly black gentleman's name is that is in all the movies. But I know she loveingly called him Uncle. I always loved him growing up and still do, in fact I wish he was my uncle. He seems so nice and gentle, sings great, and man oh man can he tap dance.
I'll say she did...👍It wasn't just her good looks, singing and dancing that got her far. She had a brain in her head that was sharp and SMART. She easily could have been the first woman President of the United States.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Loved her!! When I was a kid back in the late 50s my mom bought me a 33rpm record of all of her songs. I memorized all of them and would lip sync to them (because I had a lousy voice) however I could dance really good. I took tap lessons for 6 years. Good memories ❤️! RIP Shirley!
I had a strange coincidence happen. Only a day before she passed I was watching my moms Shirley Temple VHS tapes she has. I ended up crying the next day.
You are and you will remain adorable kid forever for all of us in many of your timeless clips like these. Thank you for bringing joy and smile to many people^^ You stole my heart, too.
It makes me so sad when I see children exploited for adult entertainment. Children need to grow into their God given talent and not be pushed to do this or that to make adults happy or rich.
and nowodays kids get paised for pretend to have telent in musically. Shilrley was literally a baby when she was singing and dancing at her own movies.
Year shirley temple was a rely talented as a little baby and she so cute she was like a little angel she was born a little star there will never be another one like her and so shirley is singing to my lord jesus christ in heaven because she born an angel and know she dwells in heaven rest in peace our little angel and you just keep on singing to god coz that's where you belong my little angel rip xxxx

@@rebeccatrevino7584 Exactly. There was nothing appalling about them, they were designed to be cute. If someone sees this child in sexual terms, that's all on them.
