This beautiful hymn was written by the King Ravana and describes the cosmic dance of Shiva. In this first stotram you can hear the sounds of Shiva’s drum beating. ☺️

I’ve just started learning it and I’ve repeated it hundreds of times to learn it by heart. ☺️ I felt inspired after listening to a Vinyl album of Swami Satyananda Saraswati chanting and hearing him sing this hymn. Although it is not perfect, I can’t wait to repeat it to the point where everything flows.

With his neck consecrated by the flow of water that flows from his hair,And on his neck a snake, which is hung like a garland,And the Damaru drum that emits the sound “Damat Damat Damat Damat”,Lord Shiva did the auspicious dance of Tandava. May he give prosperity to all of us.
