I’m going to school to be a vet currently and my intructor always said TELL PEOPLE TO GET THEIR DOGS SPAYED EVEN IF THEY WONT BE AROUND MALES because mammary tumors are so so so common when they aren’t spayed

Hugo was my age. His accident proved he would happily mate if he had a partner. Masterful intervention to to treat his injury. So happy he can avoid infection while he slowly heals.

When my father (military) was sent to Kenya before the Independence (I was 7 at the time), the people who worked for us (cook, gardener and house cleaner) brought us a Christmas present in the shape of a giant tortoise. It had a hole bored in its shell, so had obviously been tied up. We had a large garden with a rock fountain in the middle. This huge boy was not very friendly and very definitely didn't like our Siamese cat : spitting at it all the time. I once sat on what I thought was a rock, but it started to move - lol. But it lead a happy life eating all our vegetables in my mother's patch. She was a very soft hearted person and said that as long as he was happy, we could do without certain veggies (never liked them anyway !!!!)

I guess Hugo the turtle was bringing a whole new meaning to the term "Getting one's rocks off"

Dr Rob is such an amazing vet, casually giving Sally a kiss while discussing the options with her owners. He is such a caring person. Kudos to the owners to adopt her in the first place and looking after her .

Hugo seems to be a very well behaved in the air. Which worked out great for the team when treating him

With Hugo if you had phoned a tow truck company to help offering free advertising, they would help. The tow truck company would be a hero helping a very special animal. Any problems in the future, look at the community businesses for help, they would probably love to be apart of it.

I am curious as to why they didn't take Hugo to a facility with a mechanic's pit. They hauled him to a warehouse to weigh him a while back so they could use the same procedure to take him to a mechanic shop. The two people would have been safer; Hugo would have been "on the ground", and the glue would have set much faster in the heated building.

Lulu, 11 years old, and not spayed? Did they still perhaps have thoughts of breeding her?

They need to invent a turtle jack.

Wow we got Dr Rob Z and Dr Arvid in the same episode of Bondi Vet Coast to Coast 💞💯💞💯💞Dr Arvid had a very tough case with the 11 year old Yorkie having so many tumors in her mamory gland area and then having to try and stitch it all back together once he was done removing them all, but thankfully he was able to get the job done 😊❤😊 only to have to go right back to surgery on another Yorkie to try and save her life and he saved the day once again by removing all the kidney stones and this 11 year old girl got to go home the very next day as well as the 1st Yorkie and then the tumors come back as negative for cancer 🎉😊❤😊🎉 Excellent Vet Care from Dr Arvid and his team members in Georgia, USA ❤️🇺🇲❤️ Dr Rob Z was so gentle with the Miniature Schnauzer with the bad tooth 🦷 problem. He has a soft spot for the unwanted unloved mistreated animals that are rescued😊❤😊 like this little girl was from the puppy mill by her owners😊❤😊 You Can Tell Just How Much They Love Her & How Much She Love's Her New Mommy and Daddy❤😊❤ Awesome work with Hugo at the Australian Reptile Park😊❤😊Hugo is still a young man at 73 years old 🤭😆🤣😂🤣😂😆🤭 and you can bet he's a little bit frustrated 🥴 with Esmeralda being just a few feet away from him and he can't get to her and he's been waiting for a girlfriend for a Long Long Time and then y'all put up a fence and now all he can do is look at her while she's over there smiling at him and teasing him all the time and then she walks away and leaves Poor Hugo alone with nothing but the Rock's in his enclosure😮😢😮😢 Esmeralda needs to hurry up and get ready for for our Hugo so he's not alone anymore😊❤😊 So Very Very glad that you finally got the plate fixed to his shell and praying that he heals quickly so he can be back to full health sooner than later😊❤😊 Much Love To all the Animals and the Vet's from the USA ❤️🇺🇲❤️🇺🇲❤️🇺🇲❤️🇺🇲❤️🇺🇲❤️🇺🇲❤️

Had a cat that was born with a bump on her lower regions. The cat was born to a stray mama who had dried up early but we did our best to help both mama and the kittens. however 2 of the kittens we found out were born with out a good chunk of their intestines and what they had not even surgery would help as only a small part was connected which made going poopoo not a good thing. Even the vet said that it would be better to put the 4 week old kittens to sleep. So we did. When the vet looked at Ghost he said that the bump was close to her intensine but didn't at the moment seem to be causing her trouble but we would have to watch it as the bump could go either way but we all agreed on that day that if the lump cause her to have issues going to the bathroom then she would be sent to the rainbow bridge like her siblings. It did get bigger over time and when it took over her lower half and she started to have issues with the bathroom we kept our promise. She was 6 years old. The vet also said that it was to dangerous given where the lump was to do surgery as he found out that the lump was attached to her intestines and surgery would have killed her. ' The only surviving kitten has some mild health issues with his skin but he will soon be 13 years old and he a decade younger than our oldest cat. We did di everything we could for the kittens and mama. Mama went to a shelter as we really couldn't keep her but we made sure that she at least had a place to be safe after she was done taking care of her kitteens

Oh Hugo! Gotten yourself into a pickle there buddy! He's lovely, I hope he heals well. And gets the girl 😂 Robyn is quite amazing I have to say. I have seen some not so nice things said about vets lately which I find very upsetting as I know vets love our animals and my cockatoo wouldn't survive without his devoted vet. These shows just prove how amazing vets are and how they love our animals just like we do 🥰

Bovi-bond would probably be a great adhesive for the tortoise. I wonder if they used that. It sets well in cold weather and is great for areas that go into dirt and water.

Hopefully this served as a lesson for those owners to be more responsible and get their dog spayed next time!! It’s sad this poor dog had to suffer for their irresponsiblity.

I have a suggestion for the next time you need access to Hugo's bottom shell... Install a concrete trench similar to what the mechanics use in an Oil Change garage) that the vet can lie or kneel (depending on how deep it is) while Hugo stands on top straddling the pit... His legs are completely on the ground so he can't fall on you but you can still get at his belly plate... The only thing is you'd need to make sure he doesn't turn or one or two of his legs could end up in the pit with you...

I lost a Yorker that I had for 12 years. She is missed so much.

I could be wrong, but I thought kidney stones are white-ish in color. The ones this doctor pulled out were blackish. That seems like a very bad clue to me. Maybe the dog is eating very poor quality mass produced foods. 🤷‍♀️
