Singapore law does make it easier for companies to hire just about anyone in the world. But think about it too, that means you are competing against the world for the job. It gives me a sense of diversity and some pride when I used to work among people from other countries. It's good opportunity if you wish to challenge yourself but at the same time you have to be prepared to accept other ways and paces of thinking/working. In Singapore we accept the cultures and then make new culture around it rather than making the singapore culture the dominant one. Something different vs Hong Kong I feel.

As a Singaporean, he is interviewing the people in the CBD area, Raffles place where they are offering the highest salaries in Singapore. And the one who is earning 10k to 20k are the director level, which is the top management of the companies here. Most regular people here are earning an average of 5k or much less. And the rental in Singapore is really expensive now, could be easily 3k + for a very small condominum.

這是在CBD,而不是一般的打工仔，訪談者很多又是該區域該公司PR90的員工。好比想要訪談台灣的製造業中電子工程師的薪水，卻在台積電公司的園區做訪談，缺少普遍性。

比较这些没意义，薪水高物价高，，，，，冷暖自知。另外，working smart no hard 是老外的共识，其实就是要学会如何偷懒。不管怎样，亚洲国家的工作压力太大了，在俺们乡下不会有人会回答你“我要多努力。。。。”，基本上人家会认为下班后还谈工作或想升职的都是神经病。人类的经济社会实际上是神经病院，新加坡人去到澳洲，就会醒悟他们的前半生都是发颠来的。李家那种洗脑是很有效的。

His video is always out of proportion and exaggerated as per usual. Sg average salary is around $5-6k a month. Taxi/grab driver ($3-5k), public servant (e.g. senior engineer in PUB or LTA) @ $6-7k/month which is the same or lower compared to HK. You go to the CBD in HK and ask how much they make and it's the same. Hate ppl always talk down on HK which is kinda stupid.

Agree, Singaporean attracts more talents from the world than HK. Look at the 78 years old auntie here, speaking fluent English. Many friends or colleagues of mine didn’t speak fluent English even. Now we only focus on Chinese and mandarin, is not good for HK in a long term To be compatible in Asia, you got to be a multicultural city.

A lot of ppl earn below 5k. That's the problem why companies don't want ppl to discuss about their salaries. Someone may earn much lower then what he deserves.

Interesting fun fact and thumbs up for even getting a few to share their salary range. Yes, it's perhaps less pressuring n more work life balance here vs say HK (dont forget it's all relative). Yes, it's probably easier to get working permit here than HK/Thailand or some other Asian countries. And yes, the overall environment here is generally conducive and good melting pot for all nationalities. BUT, the cbd is financial hub and people not working in this industry (or IT) dont earn that much. And locals that got displaced by expats are not having a easy life. So, that's the rosy tinted glass you are browsing. Imagine if these professionals are complaining about high rentals, how would the locals feel?

It’s less meaningful to compare/measure earnings by currency, without comparing its local cost of living, and relevant purchasing power to sustain/support a similar/equivalent lifestyle. And more importantly, how much savings can you have in the end without sacrificing your expected lifestyle. Not to mention the higher stress and longer working hours associated with higher earnings that leads to less personal/family time and risks of physical/mental health. 当高收入（伴随着高强度、高压力)和高消费互相抵消后，你的生活品质/健康和银行存款与之相对应的购买力， 有成正比吗？

在新加坡也有所谓的社会高层与低层。 在新加坡CBD访问 所得到的薪金资讯当然也普遍偏高，海外人士也相对偏多。虽然与其他国家相比有相对偏高的薪金但各种税收房租消费也是不容小觑… 其实单看薪金与生活质量（income vs quality of life), 许多拥有相对较低收入的国家也未必逊色。

Actually for someone who's worked in HK and currently working in SG. the infrastructure of Singapore and the interior of the offices in CBD has a long way to go before it can match Hong Kong 🤣 But it's undeniable that the stability and willingness of SG government to push advantageous policies locally is positioning it to be the financial hub of Asia. P.S. SG visas are hard and difficult to maintain. S pass is easy but anything above (i.e. EP is hard) and PR is even more challenging!

The title of this video is a bit misleading, perhaps most of the Senior roles in HK are making similar salary vs. SG. Indeed, junior/mid level roles in HK are making more and paying less tax ( or almost the same). I don’t think this video is objective enough. ( disclaimer : i’m a hongkonger worked in Singapore previously and moving back to HK this year ) . Also, as I know, some regional HQ are moving back to HK after moved to sg few years ago. HK is still have an important status in Asia. Unbeatable! Please stop having the mindset of “隔離飯香” ! 港人要撐番港人.period.

Go check market capitalisation of the world's stock exchange - Hong Kong is still way ahead despite things became very competitive, there is a lot of things great about Hong Kong. And Singapore's great as well. Go Central to ask the same questions, or actually many quality start ups and companies are working remote and globally that has presence in Hong Kong. The Brits, Europeans and US made HK great using the fiat US money where there were no rules and it became "complicated" when CPC elites got on board. Only the HK elites got to hop nob with these people. The going-ons remind you of players in a casino where money from doubtful sources got tossed around like in a giant laundromat. (At one time HSBC has 300 trillions of hot money in the books). Well the problem with the HK people is that they believe that all that happened is due to their own hard work and diligence.
