PFF Ranks Browns Among Top Overlooked Teams. After finishing with an 11-6 record in 2023, the Cleveland Browns look poised to make a return trip to the AFC playoffs this season. Cleveland’s top-ranked defense from 2023 returns the core of its starters, and a healthy Deshaun Watson - along with new and emerging wide receivers - will go a long way toward securing the team’s first AFC North crown since 1989.
Despite this team’s promise, PFF analyst Gordon McGuinness believes Cleveland will be overlooked by fans and players alike in 2024. PFF shared a picture of the top-five most overlooked teams for the upcoming season, and the Browns ranked atop McGuinness’ list. There are multiple reasons the Browns are being overlooked in 2024. First, years of mismanagement and poor coaching choices left the franchise with a 19-year playoff drought after the Browns’ rebirth.
Second, Cleveland has one playoff win in 25 years - albeit a sweet victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in head coach Kevin Stefanski’s first season.
Finally, the Browns had multiple injuries last season that derailed their season, causing valuable starters like Nick Chubb and Watson to miss significant playing time. With so many athletes injured during the 2023 season, it’s easy to see why fans forgot how solid the Browns’ roster is in 2024. Dallas Cowboys defender Micah Parsons summed up the league’s perception of Cleveland with his infamous remarks at the Pro Bowl earlier this year, showing the lack of respect the Browns have despite making the playoffs.
Four of the five most-overlooked teams come from the AFC. The Miami Dolphins rank second while the Los Angeles Chargers are the third most-overlooked team in 2024.

I agree with the guys from pff, we have not seen any elite play from watson since coming to Cleveland. But even with a bad qb we can win 10 games still, like they said the roster is great. Even if pff ranked watson their 23rd best qb of 2024. They ranked the whole team top 5.

Whats aggravating about about watching Watson is this, theres plays where he shows flashes of his old self. Then theres plays where he bails early on clean pockets for no reason,looks unsure and has no confidence, forces throws, gets locked on to his primary read etc.. For the life of me i cant figure out whats holding him back. I think the talent is still there. He has the best roster, o line, coaching and support hes ever had or ever will have. I think its a mental thing and i hope hes able to get it figured out this yr and for yrs to come in Cleveland

No one in the National Media can praise the browns roster without mentioning how bad Deshaun Watson has played since coming to Cleveland. They got a point. The box score don't lie, Deshaun has not played above average football since 2020 season. QB is the only position dragging this great team down.

PFF is a rating system like power ratings or anything else that's not dependent on record, so it's not necessarily accurate and is heavily opinion based, and in a state of constant change. If PFF is not paying attention for 8 months it's not my problem. Here's the bottom line on Deshaun so far. He's not been available and injured most of the time, and the year before that was suspended most of the year. Nonetheless he had several great games, most notably beating Baltimore in Baltimore during the time they were beating everybody.

agree Watson has not been the player we traded for. Even these guys in the video said they haven't seen anything from Watson since being in Cleveland. hard to disagree with that when you see that Watson is a bottom 8 qb in almost every per game passing stat.
