I've seen him face to face all the way through my life beginning with before I was born but he does not look anything like any of the pictures I have ever seen published by anyone.

Years later I came across a bust of him that was unearthed in an ancient Greco-Buddhist city close to the border of Afghanistan, it was a perfection depiction of him and his fine features. I shared the picture of the bust of him with a friend. He shared that in his back-packing days travelling through Afghanistan in the 70s, the tribesmen that he met in the area were still talking about the holy man that had come to them from Israel.

I agree about accepting Jesus as our Lord, but I think the letter is fake. As a historian who studied Biblical history, Jesus would have looked like a 1st-century Jewish person and nothing like the White Jesus that is portrayed. His hair would be black and curly. His eyes would be dark brown, not gray. If Pontius Pilate truly saw Jesus, He wouldn't have described it as in the letter.

Same concept - when we violate God's law, we will face judgement when we die on earth. The Bible teaches us the penalty for sin (violating God's law) is eternal death. So how do we pay that fine?? That's when we rely upon our Father's Son, Jesus Christ, to step in and pay the penalty. He died on the cross as atonement - payment for your crimes / sin so that you may have eternal life in heaven with God. The fact this latter bit does not appear in this letter makes it suspect. It was either written after the gospels (which the earliest is about 60 years after the death of Jesus.OR it preserves a third source common to it and the Gospels which also do not have this third section - neither of these can be a real letter written by Pilate.
