We were in China and just returned from there. We took a tour of Beijing, Xian, Chongqing and Shanghai in twenty-five days with my wife and my aunt who is ninety-five years old. Fantastic experience over all from food to people to the progress. As for taxis, if you stick to DIDI or proper taxi there are no issues. Far better experience over NY taxis as well as Delhi or Kolkata taxis.

India should not practice Western democracy. This system is not suitable for developing countries. You can write an entire book about Mao's strategic win over Kuomintang forces. Before turning India into a single party system, India must abolish the constitution. But once the constitution has been abolished, it becomes an open challenge for the seat of power. I am pretty sure than when it happens, the so called Hindu warriors would be scared to even take up guns and fight for their ideology. Depending on how long your visa is, for a sense of history (Beijing, Xi'an), for a sense of modernity and transportation technology (Shenzhen, Shanghai, Guangzhou), for a sense of the most ethnic diversity and breathtaking landscapes in 1 place (Xinjiang, Yunnan, Tibet and other pockets of China scattered across), for a sense of China that doesn't look quite the China you've in mind (Xinjiang, Heilongjiang (Harbin), Inner Mongolia), for Classical China (Hangzhou, Suzhou and it s water towns and canals). China is so huge that some places that look out of this world that even locals claim they didn't know it exists! But for some reason, they've been captured on drones.

China has a lot of places to see. I am sure you will cover hangzhou suzhou Beijing areas. But I clue the the chicken head part where they have a ice sculpture festival at this time of year. Also Shaolin, Xian are great to see. Xian the starting point of silk route will give a different feel compared to other Chinese places with its Indian Arabian influences

Why follow western tactic to compare and pit India against China. When Indian test a missile western media will say it can hit Beijing and dangerous and how China will counteract, similarly when China does the same to protect western bases around it, western media will say it can hit most part of New Dehli, etc. and suggest how India can counteract. They anticipate sales for western arms coming with glee. But if the west's secret lab "suddenly" test fire a new missile it is to protect itself against rouge countries line Russia, China, Iran or North Korea. Soon India will be surrounded for future containment.

Welcome to one of the greatest cities in the world. If you use your Indian sim card with data roaming, you can access all services from Google. Otherwise, if you get local sim card, you will have to have VPN to access Google, FB etc.

Just a simple correction for nearly all those English speaking Indians: You all invariably pronounced Shanghai as SHANG-GAI which was incorrect. It should be pronounced as SHANG-HAI. HAI in Chinese means sea which is what it should be.

Looks like the Chinese can't figure out how to transition to a democracy and function politically as a civilized countryI I just hope Tibet and Xinjiang will escape from the criminal enterprise! I hate to break it up to you, but in India democracy gets leased by Billionaires for a reasonable price during every election, which means India has no democracy. And BTW, India is in a pitiful condition right now, which cannot even aid itself. So forget about helping others.

I don’t understand people like you. Good for your mental health. Keep up the good work. It is said people always want to see what is there in others pocket rather than what is in their own. This is what I felt when I reached and saw how china is growing. They know how to grow and our own people know how to pull legs of our own. I would have deleted this message very easily but I think we need people like you who are self explanatory.
