Kody Brown Fights With Wives Over Moving From Nevada: ‘Buck Up & Follow!’
Kody Brown Opens a New Window. and his family moved from Nevada to Arizona last year, but his wives Meri Opens a New Window. , Janelle Opens a New Window. , Christine Opens a New Window. and Robyn Opens a New Window. weren’t happy about it. On this week’s Sister Wives, the family feuds over Kody’s decision to leave Las Vegas.
On the episode, Kody sets up a presentation for the wives Opens a New Window. to move from Las Vegas, Nevada.
“We left Utah and we didn’t want to,” he said of the state investigating them for polygamy. “We were forced to leave and we made the best decision for our family. My intentions were never to be here permanently. I was thinking about going back to Utah. It would be very dangerous, the laws are worse. I’m not telling you where we’re going to go, but we go all together.”
He explained how selling their four Las Vegas homes would help them financially, as he still has children to get through college.
He then brought up the idea of running for office in Utah to “change the law.”
Wife Meri responded, “That would mean we have to move back since the political thing and law change. I have no desire to move back to Utah. I’m concerned about the acceptance we would get anywhere else.”
Janelle explained how the move would be hard on the “triplets,” who are the same age and juniors in high school Opens a New Window. .
She said of her son, “I’m not going to pull Gabriel out his junior year of high school. I don’t care about the money. I got to protect my kid. He said he’ll run away.”
Christine added, “The heartache we had with the older kids will be the same with the younger kids.”
Robyn agreed, explaining how when they moved to Las Vegas the families were “separated in rentals.”
Although Kody understood, he became frustrated with his wives shutting the idea to move down Opens a New Window. .
“Sometimes you have to buck up and lead and others have to follow,” he said.
Later in the episode, Christine explained how her daughter Gwen ran for treasurer and won. She said if the family moved, she would stay back a year so her daughter could stay in her Las Vegas school.
