Kwabena is a systems engineer, first and foremost. He has critically taught himself and learned history without formally studying it, and DECOLONISED HIS MIND. African countries should focus on STEM so that they make things they want or consume. Unfortunately most African countries still teach using colonial curriculum, including European examination bodies like ACCA, Chartered Institutes of .... Secretaries, etc (just drain our foreign exchange). As parents we need to take charge of our children career choices✌🤗

@komiczar
@komiczar Год назад
@@hawasanneh1807 You are correct in part that: "developing and manufacturing weapons of mass destruction, just for the same purpose to continue to control people. However the control of people is rooted in the delivery and acceptance of the weapons of "Mass Instruction," that is designed to distract the mastery of one's own self, and one's own independent thinking processes. Manipulation can be either accepted or rejected. It is dependent on one's dedication to discernment which focuses upon seeking truths both internal and external to the self. Blaming the colonizer/tyrant/oppressor/bully, is a reaction to the harm, which encourages further harm. Blaming does not properly identify the problem itself, at its core, so that it can be solved. It is not solution based because it does not consider the ways that the victim should respond, to effect viable solutions.

I was brought up to be very proud of my African culture and heritage. I was giving 5 African names by my parents when I was born. These names allow me to know what home my parents came from, their heritages, and how far their heritages spread. So, if my parents migrate to another African countries or Western countries. I will be able to find my parents' family heritage homes individually (father and mother) Even if everyone in my heritages are all dead.

The government of Nigeria has decided to re-introduce history into the school curriculum. The history hopefully will be pre-colonial, colonial and postcolonial. My maternal great-grandparents were also captured, sold into slavery and arrived at a popular destination called Bonny Island, which was the slavery port- hub before Africans were transported to the Americas and Europe. Jaja was an Igbo man who was captured and sold into slavery in Bonny Island. He rose within the ranks, became influential and a chief, but due to internal rivalry in the Kingdom of Bonny, Jaja left Bonny Island with some chiefs and founded Opobo Town where he was made a King. King Jaja was later tried in Gold coast, now Ghana and imprisoned in St Vincent. He was to be released but died enroute to Africa. My maternal great-grandparents arrived Opobo with Jaja.

This is a brilliant discussion. Br Darko is full of knowledge; he has certainly done his homework very well. You brought up a good point about the "Africans selling Africans into slavery narrative". I don't believe this lie and I telly why. Europe still owns most of the natural resources in Africa. Britain, in partiular own a majority of the gold mines and other mines. No African country own their own currency. Clearly, no African had the power to run their economy during the slave trade and during colonisation, which answers the question whether Africans sold their own into slavery. The answer, i my educated opinion would be No!! Another reason to refute this argument is when you understand that all the major African Kingdoms were destroyed by the Europeans and have absolutely no power today. To make matters worse, the educational systems do not even incorporate the very important history about these kingdoms into their curriculums. It is important that those who are seekers of truth sharpen their critical thinking and allow the spirit of the Most High within them to guide them.

Too many people in Africa sit on their hands thinking the West is the solution. Meanwhile there’re many opportunities all around them. I told her that her parents had farms so they were rich. This friend and all her siblings moved to big city and never moved back to the country. They left their parents' farms to die off or some distance families have taken over their farms. She told me that she is afraid of juju so, she would never go back to the village.

Thank You Brother for your comment about the Ashanti Kingdom and the narrative pertaining to their participation in the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. That's my perspective on The Dahomey as well. The missing piece is the Arab/Muslim participation in the Trans-Saharan trade and how all three slave trades are interconnected. I don't understand the silence around this aspect of African history. Nevertheless, before enslavement, Africans had flourishing, well-ordered societies and were thought of as the greatest traders - they were not naive the way history has made it appear....so like the brother said, where is the wealth?
@mizzobjectiveone3819
@mizzobjectiveone3819 Год назад
I think when you start looking at the "Arabs" and the transsaharan trade, you will be looking at the Maures, almohads, almoravids, somalis, people like Tippu Tip the black arab sultanate, as well as the Mossi who used to castrate the slaves prior to their arrival in North Africa and other places. The problem with the wealth is that they traded lives for things such as cheap gin, and trinkets. It's well documented.
@TheRealAfricanist
@TheRealAfricanist Год назад
@@mizzobjectiveone3819 Well documented? By who? Make it make sense. Why would master traders, weavers, carvers, black smith's, gold smith's, artists, etc., trade their own people for some beads, mirrors, .....? Not buying it. And, yes, there were African Arabs like Tippu Tip (who identified as Arab) that were involved in the Trans-Saharan and East African trade, but they were not the norm, nor the progenitors of the trade. And moreover I'm talking about Arab Muslims that came from the area now known as the Middle East, some of which settled in North Africa.

The practice of blaming the colonizer for training is not sound responsible thinking. "It is irresponsible for the oppressed to expect the oppressor to educate the oppressed." ~ Friere It makes no difference what one views, reads, or hears, if one will not, does not, or cannot think. Question everything including your own thinking until the answers make the reasonably logical sense, to arrive at the answers. It also helps to question the validity of the question itself.

Brown is a more accurate “color” description. Additionally, the term “black” is yet another term given by “white” people to identify people who have brown skin. I personally have no issue with the term black as long as it’s not a negative.
