Edey's fit in Memphis is amazing. He's a great roll guy because he's so big, and teams usually played deep drop coverages against him to keep their center near him. Hedges and switches don't work because Edey's too big to be stopped by wings or guards, your center has to get a body on him to stand a chance. The biggest issue with PnR for Purdue was their guards not being great at turning the corner, so it often wound up just being a way to get Edey deep post position. That won't be the case with Ja, who attracts so much more defensive attention. I don't think spacing will be an issue because defending Edey's roll requires getting and keeping a body on him. If you get caught too deep under the rim he'll just overpower you and dunk on your head, so giving him an elite PG will open up a lot for him. Also he has a very solid defensive structure around him. I think he'll be a very good starting center for them.

Edey's relatively low block numbers and suspect defence seem to be a symptom of him being so vital to their offense and needing to play big minutes. Didnt foul out once the entire year which to me says he was being told to be less aggressive on defence to help him stay out of foul trouble as well as saving energy. I think if he plays 20 a night in Memphis he'll be a lot more active on D

Feel like scoring wise its more likely Castle becomes more Marcus Smart than Jimmy Butler. Jrue Holiday role as the 4-5th player on the Celtics is how i see Castle being used... Low usage, creating off better players, a connector. thats if his shot comes around.

Minnesota in driving distance to the closest two teams in it's division is more than New Orleans/Memphis is to San Antonio (furthest away in their division, the southwest). I feel they have to be the team that moves to the east.

Torontosaurus for Edey, but maybe not now in Memphis. Post up offense is favorable in late shot clock and certain bench lineups for sure.

Size matters in the NBA and Castle’s ceiling is higher than Sheppard’s. He may not hit it but if he does that’s an elite two way jumbo guard to pair with Wemby

The castle pick baffled me. I didn’t understand it before the draft, and hated the pick. The spurs trading Dilly was a kicker for me. Castle is a smaller Sochan. They occupy the same role. Baffling and frustrating.
