Opening a bar less than a mile away from someone you called a friend that you once owned a bar with is a major stab in the back. He did that to get a reaction just like when he tries to copy his specials.
Telling Jon Taffer he doesn't know a thing about how to run a bar is like telling Gordon Ramsay that he doesn't know a thing about cooking, but unlike Gordon, Jon was born into his business. Gordon worked his ass off to get where he is today and so did Jon, mad respect to both of them
The owners of that fire dept themed bar physically fighting over absolutely nothing was so bizarre. They’re grown men. BEYOND grown men, they look middle-aged. How they can function successfully is beyond me.
I completely understand wanting to cater to their primary crowd by serving mainly beers. It's OK to not make super fancy cocktails if your main clientele doesn't order them. Know how to make the basics well for those who want them when they do come in and order, though. A short variety of non-beer, alcoholic cocktails done right is a blessing when beer isn't a favorite. It is very disappointing getting a nasty, basic drink that costs $5+...but if you can serve a cold beer with perfect head AND a killer bloody mary, I will come back and spread the word!
Normal spirits and beer are easy to serve and make a beer and spirit brand menu. Then you have a cocktail menu for the newbies and women dates, groups.. etc. Cocktails take training and having the stock of mix. That is why, they can't even be honest.
I totally agree. My wife works in a bar and all she serves is beers, or spirit and coke, or OJ. She hasn’t made a cocktail, but she said if she was asked, she would search it on the net and then make one. As their clientele expands, I think she will start to be asked for more cocktails and I’ve said she should start to get familiar with some popular ones so at least she knows 5 or so for the Sydney clientele when they come in for hens nights etc.
There should have been a fire alarm put in, and when it rings it’s discount drinks until it rings again, or to signify they’re serving a special cocktail or something.
I've heard that at Planet Fitness locations (I've never seen one in Australia, so I've only heard about it and not seen it) there's an alarm that builds up as the place gets louder and eventually goes off when it gets too loud. So there's two ways those go; they go off at the slightest noise or it turns it into a game of making it go off. It wouldn't be a good idea for a bar obviously, it's a drinking establishment so of course it's gonna get loud, but the idea of having one of those alarms in their bar is extremely amusing to me.
It makes me so sad when the bars get rescued but the relationships between family members don’t. John not being up there celebrating the success of the business with his brothers is sad. Especially the relationship Xatia has with her mother. They’re bitter and entitled and too busy overtopping eachother’s voices to listen properly to the other person. THAT makes me sad. I hope they can all grow together and coexist someday :)
You need glasses. No amount of makeup, massive fake eyelashes and Juniors clothing can hide the fact that AJ is a 50+ year old woman trying to live a teenage life.
No way would I patronize the fire house bar. Jimmy is a freaking ticking time bomb. One day he'll bow up on the wrong person (hopefully lol). Or some customer will get hurt and they'll get sued into oblivion.
Don't compare him to doctor Phil.... Do you have any idea of the horrific things doctor Phil does... Like sending kids to a concentration camp that has sexual abuse that was fully known about....
@@michaeldorsey4580 Yes, after the first time Jon charged through the suv door, it flew off its hinges and cut a small family in half. So they had to remove them for safety reasons.
@@michaeldorsey4580 Haha, yeah, I had an urge about 11 months ago to post a bunch of fake facts about Jon on bar rescue videos.I think this is the only one that got attention, though.
Why? What did you expect from them? Self awareness & the ability to communicate that takes years of therapy and normally only happens between couples. There's always 3 sides to a problem. His side, her side, & the truth. Discord between family members is always deep and complicated and it's refreshing to see at least a small amount of that here. Families who present rainbows and unicorns are not real.
Alcohol doesn't calm people down and defuse situations. It makes emotional issues worse. Those idiots need to stop drinking if they want to stop fighting.
Kichen nightmares in England: “Right so I’m the owner, I love cooking food and I’ve been doing it for years. Unfortunately I need help. American Bar rescue: 16:22
Kitchen Nightmares in America: I don't know what I'm doing in the kitchen but like being a chef, also have never worked in or ran a restaurant before. I need help, but will fight Gordon Ramsey all the way because he's challenging my delusion.
I miss UK kitchen nightmares, that was easily the best part of the show because it was about genuine people struggling to make something work. All of these shows since then seem to just find the most delusional idiots and showcase the drama. Most of them will eventually go under anyway.
For real, Jon Taffer made be there harsh type to get a lesson drilled into someone but it’s needed. It’s a good wake up call to people. Wouldn’t dare be the one to step up n yell at him back. These people do crap work then attempt to defend their crap ways with a mans who’s “been there, done that” a hundred times…they better have a really good excuse otherwise it won’t work.
IMO Jon does it to get rating. he is a total loser IMO. If you have to talk down to people because your so high and mighty bar GOD. I do not want that. I do not want that for my employees. I treat everyone they way I want to be treated. WITH RESPECT and KINDNESS. Not yelling at everyone's face and making a scapegoat out of a family member. No wonder Jon and the company is being sued over 25 times and the lawsuits are still growing to this day.
I see, so apparently you're a spineless and insecure wimp too if mildly tough love like bothers you that much. Respect is earned and failures that he yells at need that wake up call and they either straighten up their act and earn the respect or can't take the heat and stay as petty losers. He just says like it is which at least I respect and we need more people like Jon in this world.
Another point, there's not really a way to specifically check, but there's a pretty good chance both drinks are non-alcoholic, like an O'Doul's or something. 3:30
So help me out here: What exactly happens when you name your daughter DIVA?? Honestly Diva isn't the diva but oh man I'll tell ya what - I'm glad my mom was a school teacher!!
I've worked with the show before when they filmed out here and they tell the bars that they're filming some shots for an update on how the business is going. If the owners actually watch the show they probably realize what is going to happen but the show doesn't actually tell them anyone is coming.
Go to therapy and stop acting like wanting to physically fight people daily is normal. Yes your anger is valid but that doesn't mean your reaction is. John is not cool tbh but it does happen and anger management is key.
The second one was hilarious when he had enough. Still very sad that pride and aggressive personalities tear people apart because at the end it’s a war over who rules the remains of their destruction.
So did anyone notice that one of their advertised drinks is the JonFire Shot at 3:38? That's the same drink advertised at The Lister. I'll wager the bars that get "rescued" are probably obligated by contract to promote that drink after the show leaves.
When I think about it, having bar staff exclusively being young, attractive women in provocative outfits is really counterproductive to the business. You’re trying to attract a male crowd who will quickly learn that the girls working there are not going home with them. Strippers at least will give them a show and a dance but at a bar, none of that’s happening. Obviously, being male-centric will alienate the female crowd so not a lot of women will be there. So what you end up with is a bar that people visit once because they don’t know better. Women who’ve been there will know that there’s not much for them there. Guys with girlfriends know that their girlfriends don’t like going there. And single guys - the demographic you’re targeting - will know that there’s no action of any kind to be had.
@@algomaslejanoquiza3174 Unsurprisingly, that franchise’s popularity is nowhere near where it used to be. They’ve made significant changes in their advertising and hiring policies in order to regain some ground in the market. Also, being a franchise gets them a novelty badge that appeals to the nostalgic crowd.
I would never go to the first bar His brother put money into the business He’s making 3x what he used to and now he’s happy to cut his brother out of his business and to quote fck his money he ain’t getting it back Is that the firefighter way? What a disgrace
18:22 🤣new sign looks terrible compared to the original! ..can’t even read it from 3 parking spots out! Plus “The End Zone” is way better than “Houston Sports Hub” 😆wtf
Just a thought of solving pour over or wasting the drink. Jon T. question when the person over pours from a bottle the amount should be deducted from Employee's paycheck because the bar is losing amount for that drink is there any way to solve this matter without fire them this way the bar covers the lost of wages from the over pour drink then they will watch there drinks about over pouring them is this good so, they can do this without fighting whom to blame then they all cam get along with each other in life.
Baseline sports bar, literally around the corner from a restraunt i go to sometimes and now its some Hawaiian themed place (the last time I been to that area)
