Elvis Destined To Die Young - NOW THE TRUTH COMES OUT.
@davidharrison1523
@davidharrison1523 Месяц назад
Elvis suffered a cardiac event at the age of 42, which was most likely to have been a cardiac arrest which his father died of at the age of 64, & his daughter recently died of at the age of 54. It’s possible it was a heart attack which his mother died of at the age of 46, & his two maternal uncles died of in their early forties, but we won’t know for sure exactly what killed him until 2027, as his father had the autopsy results sealed for 50 years. Elvis was struggling with a long term addiction to prescription meds, & they may certainly have contributed to the cardiac event, but he also had a very enlarged heart when he died, as well as other serious medical issues. He had been suffering from a decline in his health since 1974, as well as from clinical depression from 1975, but was still doing a gruelling touring concert schedules right up to just six weeks before he passed. You are so right when you say that addiction can happen to anyone, especially when it comes to certain prescription medications for pain relief. Elvis loved singing gospel music best of all & Peace in the Valley is a beautiful song, which he sang for his mother when he was doing his last appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1957.

You will never become an alcoholic if you never take that first drink. You will never become addicted to drugs if you never take the first hit. I love Elvis but that is just the truth.

Elvis had a rare condition unheard of in those days called Alpha 1. His mothers parents were first cousins, he inherited a double gene which sealed his fate. His mother died at 46 and her two brothers died in their 40's all died of Heart disease Liver failure and lung problems, like COPD. He died at 42. He was born with a twisted colon that caused severe constipation. They were so poor they never got medical care. By his early 30's Elvis had emergency surgery to save his right eye from blindness, with early onset Glaucoma. The glasses were necessary. By his soon he was using a inhaler before and after performances. In 1975 he had a heart attack in his hair dressers presents but wasn't allowed to tell anyone. The last 4 years like his mother was a down spiral. He was hosted and pale because his liver was not filtering out toxins. His doctor gave him pain killers and many prescriptions, but in the book "Destined to Die Young" by Sally Hoedel, she says had Elvis never taken a drug would have died in his 40's.

I would like to comment on your saying Elvis died from drug abuse. The autopsy done in 1977 pointed to an irregular heartbeat that caused the heart attack that killed him. But drugs were in his system as he was "addicted to legal prescription drugs" Elvis had a congenital ganglionic fold in his colon (at birth) commonly called a "twisted colon" he also had lifelong insomnia which started as a child and never went away. His family had a history of heart disease and liver disease. The colon problem got worse as he aged, much like pipes in your home over time, the twist in his colon began to clog as he aged and caused pain and constipation. In 1994 because of the high profile death of Elvis and the question of drug death being raised the state of Tennessee brought in world renowned coroner, Dr Joseph Davis to review all the records from Elvis Presleys autopsy by. Davis had worked on many big cases including John F Kennedy and Martin Luther King. After a couple weeks of reviewing the records, tissue samples, death scene photos etc .Dr Davis, declared at its completion, "There is nothing in any of the data that supports a death from drugs. In fact, everything points to a sudden, violent heart attack. If it had been a drug overdose, [Elvis] would have slipped into an increasing state of slumber. He would have pulled up his pajama bottoms and crawled to the door to seek help. It takes hours to die from drugs." Elvis had nearly bitten through his tongue at the moment the attack happened-not a slow drug death in which the body slowly shuts down, but violent and sudden: "He was dead before he hit the floor"

First of all Elvis didn't die of the drug overdose but from cardiac arrest, and second of all you failed to mention that he was very sick man and in a lot of pain constantly and that is why he was on so many prescription medications. So, he can't be put in the same category with the celebrities who are using illegal drugs for the recreational purposes.

The autopsy will be made public in 2027 but the available details, analysis and experts believe it was caused by the toxic levels of prescribed opiates that caused a cardiac arrest. It was an overdose, whether intentional or not we may never know. Maybe Lisa's autobiography may shed some light on that question mark when it's released in October

Actually, Elvis died of cardiac arrest & had close to another 11 ailments at the time of his death. With cardiac arrest, you can be healthy as a horse & still have one. It's from your electricals 'misfiring' so they bounce off the heart instead or helping charge the heart. My spouse died from the same with no forewarning as did my son's best friend at age 40.

There is no doubt, as his life came to an end, Elvis struggled with prescription medicine overuse. In some aspects, due to his many ailments Elvis needed these medicines. But there is little doubt that he slipped into a deep depression, leading to the overuse in an effort to block the world out.

Love the reaction! Thank you for sharing. But, Elvis actually died of a heart attack, no saying the medications (prescribed, not street drugs) helped. But, MD said he probably would have died due to an enlarged heart anyway. As, did his mother (at 46) and all her side of the family.

He wasn`t addicted to illegal drugs. The way you put it, people who don`t know Elvis may misunderstand. Elvis had health issues since he was a boy. He took prescribed drugs and was against illegal drugs. He didn`t even drink alcohol (or at least only on special occasions). In those days, the US Army produced many men with drug addictions. Before he was drafted, he never took any kind of drugs. Elvis was 42 when he died of cardiac arrest. His mother wasn`t addicted to drugs and she also died from heart failure at the age of 46. When you say that he was the first to have died of drug abuse, you are wrong. Artists did die from misuse of prescribed drugs and heart failure. BTW, isn`t alcohol a drug? Coffee is a drug too, as is sugar and fat, and many are addicted to those and even die from consuming them.

You have bought the narrative from media. In the book "Distended to Die Young" by Sally Hoedel it tells of the unknown diseases that Elvis carried because of the Alpha one gene. His !mother's parents were first cousins and pasted on a double gene to the male child Elvis. Gladys died at 46 and her two brothers died in their mid 40's as Elvis died at 42. He was born with a twisted colon, and was so poor he was never treated for the problem. Like his mother and her brothers, all had heart trouble, Liver failure and lung problems COPD. Bad immune systems. By 1969 Elvis had emergency surgery on his right eye to save him from early onset Glaucoma, and blindness. In early 1970, he was using inhalers before and after performances. In 1975 hairdresser Larry Geller said Elvis had a mild heart attack in his presence and ask Larry not to tell anyone. In 1976 his liver was failing and wasn't filtering toxins put of his system and he began to bloat and his hands and face puffed up. Hoedel says that had he never taken a drug he would have still died in his 40's. She said that of the 11 systems in the body 9 were completely blocked. Dr. Nic was only given him pain killers those last years so he could get through his performances. He never wanted his fans to know he was ill, Nobody loved their more than Elvis.

Thanks for sharing this reaction. I loved Elvis’s gospel music maybe more than almost all of his other music. His version of “Farther Along” is probably my favorite version of that song ever (and that’s saying something, because I like The Byrds’ version, and The Persuasions did a great version, as did The Blind Boys of Alabama). And as you said: no auto tune. Just plain old musical talent and soul. I like that you sing along with these songs which touch you. Your reactions are heartfelt. It was a pleasure learning with you, brother. Keep up the great work. One day at a time. Rabbi Steve
