Nollywood’s most refined, Genevieve Nnaji, is back to the trends table again. Still, this time around, it’s not for making an absurd comment on mental illness or for producing another sensational masterpiece like “Lion Heart.” the star actress is trending over her conspicuous absence at the wedding of her best friend, Rita Dominic. It’s no secret that pregnant Rita Dominic is currently living her best life. Since she found love in the arms of Daily Times publisher Fidelis Anosike, her colleagues have been over the moon. Before her wedding, they dropped everything they were doing to make her day memorable.
Indeed, Tuesday, April 19, 2022, saw several celebrities trooping down to Imo State to celebrate the stylish movie star on the occasion of her traditional wedding, Hashtagged, ReelDeel’22.
The wedding was like a reunion of famous veteran Nollywood stars. Nse Ikpe Etim, Uche Jombo, Ini Edo, Chidi Mokeme, Chioma Apotha, Hilda Dokubo, and several others, including Julius Agwu, partying hard at the biggest Nollywood wedding of the year.
Sadly, fans were equally shocked some other top Nollywood stars and friends of the bride were no show. From Omotoal Ekeinde, Stephany Linus, Mercy Jonshon and Oge Okoye. However, the biggest shock was the defining silence from her BFF of over three-decade, Genevive Nnaji, who was missing in action. This wouldn’t be the first time either. Right from Rita Dominic’s bridal shower in March 2022, fans had raised concerns that the ‘Lion Heart’ actress was not in attendance alongside other veteran stars to celebrate the bride’s last days as a spinster. The concerns grew even more when she refused to celebrate Rita Dominic on social media all this while.

Genny has always not been a social Media person and she may have her reasons for not showing up. When my bestie(she planned my wedding with me from the introduction till my white wedding,she was fully involved)was doing her traditional marriage,she didn't inform me and I got to hear it from someone else and was surprised but I said that I was going to call her to at least congratulate her but that evening she called and was pleading that the reason why she didn't tell me was because she knew that I was going to leave the project that I worked so hard to get and rush down to the village for her trad and she doesn't want to be that selfish and decided not to tell me and even told her siblings and those close to us not to give me a hint about it but that I shouldn't miss her white wedding for anything in the world.... In our secondary School group, I was already dragged,washed,beating,chewed and one of our classmates called me to draw my attention to that and being "me", I didn't reply not defend myself. The group was torn in two, draggers and supporters. Who cares until they got to learn the truth and came apologizing but I just exited from that group and that was it. Let's learn to mind our business in Nigeria especially when we don't know anything

I am yet to see or hear anything to hate her, Genevieve is still my top. She is the few celebrities that avoid media attention, I don’t know how she do it but I think that’s a level of maturity! I like her well well o! I loved the wedding celebration, bcos it was so exciting seeing old actors! Infact, the movie fugitive, they acted together is still fresh in my memory. There was enough love on Rita’s day… no one really tripped over Genny’s absence. One can’t really say what’s the main ish.. but I can personally say this as one who has come across her a few times… and not just me. She is snubbish. Years back, in Houston, there was an all white star studded event my lil sis attended and spotted Rita and took pics with her like they’re besties.. Rita is truly humble and down to earth. I’ve always loved Genny’s acting though. She’s real good! That can’t be taken from her. However, she wears her shoulders higher than others… as in the day my dream came true in meeting her those years back, nna, the look I received from her enhhhhh, I kukuma made a u-turn!😆

Lol. I guess I would do the same. I saw Rita too in Selfridges in London 3 years ago and I took a selfie with her. she was so graceful. I tagged her in the pic with comments on my Instagram and she responded with a love emoji. I said in the Instagram post that I wouldn't have gone to take a selfie with a Nollywood actor that looked snobbish as I hate to be snobbed. Me self I get class :)

@@Sardonyx2084 your story reminds me of when vanvic came into town(Houston) back then we were acting movies 😄.. Gurr tell me why this dude singled me out to literally mentally and emotionally abuse me on the low with or without him knowing. I was his costar acting along side with him. I would see him interacting with others just fine, having fun on set and all but he purposely singled me out. I never understood why he was doing that. I remember trying to give it another shot to make sure its not all in my head but this dude would literally snub me so i was like ok n** two can play this fk game so i just started acting as if he was irrelevant. The only time i would talk to him was when director would shout ACTION. The time he tried interacting with me was a day before he was to leave out of Houston. He was asking me why i wasnt speaking..gurl i wanted to open that door and throw him out of my car. I hated his presence. But he ended up inviting me to eat breakfast with him at ihop. from there he was making small talk with me. I guess it dawned on him that i was his costar and i was nice enough to agree to drive him back and forth to his hotel and maybe it wasnt cool to mistreat me but for me it was too late. Since then i have nothing nice to say about him. Any movies he stars in I refuse to watch. Even the one him and I did together i dont watch it. 😂 lol

Am a die hard fan of Genevieve, it's not the first event she's missing, everyone is not a social butterfly 🦋 she's a very private person 🤷 and I love her more for that, she owes no one any explanation not even Rita herself. Me personally I don't attend events not family not friends I hardly show up for events. I missed my best friends wedding everyone was asking this same useless question, but I paid attention to non, that doesn't mean am jealous 🤷 some people are just like that. Do you know what’s funny ????? When we have weddings, not all our family members attend. Because of one activity or the other & that family member will most definitely contact you to congratulate you. So WHY?????? Would you expect everyone in NOLLYWOOD to attend her wedding. Activities and other stuff do come up. Besides, there’s still white wedding.
