Does your shoe fit slightly too small? Your feet grow big? Wide foot? This simple way I show you to widen your shoe. ☕️ Buy me a coffee: www.buymeacoff...
THIS ABSOLUTELY WORKS, even for other Converse models besides Chuck 70. For instance, I got a pair of new All Star CX Explorer in my size despite my wide feet (they were out of stock for half a size up). For this EX model, the lower part of the tongue has a bit more fabric like wings extended on both sides, where meets the outer cover and the toe cap. This meant the tongue was stitched for two more rows of thread than that of the Chuck 70 in the video. I didn’t cut all the way down; just about the same amount as the video. Still, that made a complete difference for my comfort. One thing I didn’t need though was singeing off loose threads. I tried doing that for one underside, but it ended up melting off the spot of textile in addition, exposing the plastic (?) frame of the shoe. Not worth it.
you sir are a genious. i wear chucks for my waitressing job and these have been killing me. did your little trick and damn it worked soooo well-. hats off to you
Thanks, Tom! Going to try this. Mine fit great everywhere but squish my toes from the side. I bought them a few years ago but my feet got wider from being barefoot a lot. There is plenty of room between the end of my toes and the end of the shoe so a bigger size is too big. Hope this works. Oh, and I like your humor in this video 🤣
@@NilaDesigns hi, I bought a pair of converse only a week ago.But I only wore them once, and my toes are now full of blisters.I'm struggling to walk.Do you think this video will help me?
omg so helpful. You just saved my life😭 my converse would hurt my feet so bad and i kept wearing them hoping they would break in. This helped me sooo much, thank you!!
Holy moly! this is awesome. Waiting for my pair right now and will definitely do this. I also have hobbit-wide feet, from playing football barefoot too much.
Your feet are supposed to be wide, we are animals, were meant to be barefoor, my foot is like a hobbits as well, you want to always wear wide shoes when you have to wear any, like crocs, vibram 5 fingers, just any shoe that has a wide toe box
Absolutely brilliant! I can wear my mermaid converse hightops! Thank you! I didn't need the lighter trick because the edges are finished all the way down.
Bought a pair of 11.5, but they showed up as 11's. Could not return them. I tried other solutions, including freezing water-bottles and stuffing with socks, to no avail. I used a stich-remover to open the bottoms as described, and it worked like a charm. Very grateful.
You’re a genius. I bought my shoes two years ago and only wore them thrice due to pain. Recently it’s almost Chinese New Year and I was reluctantly thinking if i should get rid of it but i’ll try this out and see if it works. Thanks!
you can also make them more roomy by removing the sole and replace it with one that is more flat than that chunky cushion one and they still feel comfortable
UR MY SAVIOR!!!! I got a pair of custom converse and as they recommended on the site to go half a size.... as a dumb*** I did that, I was so excited to wear them and they were so tight I couldn't even wear them... I bought shoe stretchers and it didn't work. I used a seam ripper to just rip the triangles and that seemed to be all I needed to do. Gosh ty so much!!!
This helped so much omg! I didn't want to go to the store to exchange for a different size cause the nearest store is far from where I live. And I just recently bought the shoes.I tried to leave only the two top stitches, probably not gonna work. The loose stitches did come out of the fabric, so I'm gonna try to stitch it just to bring the design of it back.
I've bought a pair of these and have written to Converse asking them why they make them so narrow. Yet to receive an update. If I follow the advice in the video and they're still too tight, will Converse take them back for a refund... I doubt it.
Tried this and it works to widen the shoe at the widest part of your foot (where the toe and pinkie starts). So it feels more roomy. But it does nothing for the toe box so your toes are still squished into that stupid non-human foot triangle shape. I'll try to widen the toe box with some methods I've seen. If it works I'll check back here if I remember to. Still this method and removing the insole brought my shoes one step closer to improvised barefoot shoes :)
It’s crazy how converse refuses to make a wider toe box. All they need to do is make the shoe wider on the outside so the proportions look the same but let the toe box open up inside and not make The shoe too wide internally . I know a few companies make barefoot chuck ish looking shoes but they always make em look kinda goofy . I just want a regular chuck look with wider toe box and softer flexible sole. It would be a perfect shoe . It makes no sense, especially since Nike knows how to make Nike frees, their older versions had the perfect minimalist style sole and good size toe area . If I could request a custom shoe from some company I would easily
@@heythere6983 It's crazy that the entire shoe industry makes footwear that's not shaped like a foot. That don't make no sense. Imagine if a company made gloves that weren't shaped like a hand, places the fingers in a weird angle that deforms the bones, with big bulky cushioning pads on it and it's too stiff to bend. Everybody would be like "what the hell is wrong with you guys?!"😅 Try the company Groundies. I saw they had shoes like that. I haven't tried them but bought a pair of sneakers there that I'm really happy with.
There’s a couple things you can try for this, shoes can be stretched by putting a ziplock bag of water inside and put in the freezer, it expands as it freezes. If it’s just the tie box giving you the problem try a very small bag of water big enough to shove in the toes. You can also try adding steam into the toe of the shoe then gently stretching with a rounded object like a broom handle etc (this works on leather and most rubber, not in shoes that have canvas toes as well)
Holy shit! I got 5 pairs of brand stanky new limited edition chucks n fo the lov of GOD cannot wear it even tho it my SIZE! I hav 2 large as bunions by first toes n been sitting in brand new box since 4 to 5 months after ya vid i thought i get one to c n HOLY SHIT! Gonna b able to show it off now thanks 🙏 to u bro!
You don’t have wide feet! Converse are tight because they crush your toes. I would recommend barefoot minimalist shoes. They have a wider toe box and don’t crush your toes
They're connected I tried this just now the stitcing came off the outside my black chuck 70s😢 but it's wide so it's ok if you want me to show you a vid just reply😊@@shawarm444r
I’ll never buy a pair of 70s again. The toe box is so unnaturally narrow. The base model chuck Taylor does not bother my toes at all however the shoe only last about 6 months of everyday use before it falls apart.
I regret buying pairs of chuck 70s cuz hurts my feet cant walk in mintues and hours start hurys at minute i go to extra big size cuz the shoes narrow and i think bcuz of the heavy in midsole and so sturdy midsole cant bent or flex while walk i rather to use classic chuck taylor hi than 70s in long walk and my issue in chuck taylors hi ori is the cushion and the eye lets are not durable but and no traction i hope chuck taylor hi addung 70s cushion
Interesting. Thank you very much. Question, are those already a wide? Or are they the regular narrow? My son has wide feet, and here I am stressing do I get the wide and is it going to be wide enough? This will help me. Most certainly. But I still want to know, are your shoes wide?
