I have this helmet and love it. To offer perspective, I have always worn regular non-modular helmets with D-ring chin straps, both road and dual sport helmets; I have used this Neotec 3 (N3) modular/“flip-lid” for approximately four thousand miles (around town, highway and adventure off road). For around town, any sort of highway and light dirt-travel I greatly prefer this N3 flip-lid for all of the reasons chase mentions in the video, plus the safety benefit should first responders need to remove for emergency treatment (knock on wood). The clasp strap is 10x more convenient than D-rings, comfortable, and also a safety feature for first responders. The clasp can also be hooked together when not on bike and is super convenient carry option when going into stores/restaurants/house/etc.; if want to secure helmet to bike (can’t lock via D-rings) just run a cable lock though chin bar…badda bing! Helmet is extremely comfortable, quiet (flip-lids can be quieter bc have a chin shield on chin bar to block wind). The internal sun visor is outstanding and an improvement over my buddy’s Neotec 2. I really like the internal comms (purchased separately) for simplicity and aero [quality of sound for comms with riding friends and music is quite good; easy to synchronize with other people’s Bluetooth once get used to the Sena app]. External shape at rear of helmet is great for attachment of my BrakeFree brake unit (highly recommend). The face shield center tab position is an improvement over left-of-center tab positioning so can close with left AND right hands; the center tab lock-closed feature did great in the rain. Face shield easy to remove for cleaning; included pinlock is great. One thing to add which pertains to fitment and weight is that this helmet comes in three shell sizes, with Large being its own shell size. Shoei has a terrific head measurement system if want to thoroughly dial in the fit with their many internal pad options. I find the weight of this helmet/shell a non-issue; it is smooth in the air flow on my bike and I have had zero issues with neck fatigue after long all-day rides, both on road and adventure off road. The convenience (fresh air at stops/super hot day, talking in stores/gas stations/people meet up with, etc), quietness, and first responder considerations are totally awesome benefits and worth the serious investment given my use scenarios. Any wishes/down sides? Wish ventilation-flow at chin bar were a little more robust; that said, cracking the shield just a little bit works just fine. Wish the pinlock on face shield went just a tad further out of view, but it does work great to prevent fogging. Finally and to make a point, did I mention helmet is super comfortable?!?! After a three hour ride with buddy on twisty roads, he asked how my new N3 helmet felt; I said it was like wearing a perfectly snug-fitted sofa on my head! 🤗 Thanks to Rocky Mountain for their informative videos, product selection, service and commitment to the riding community. Not a fan of modular helmets, I’m sure if I got one I might get used to it eventually, but Shoei I love they are the best fitting and most comfortable helmets I’ve owned

You know, the Neotec 3 has a Sena system designed specifically for it, right? You touched the tabs that pop out for the system to be installed into. 😄

I don't know why this is "adventure touring" - it's a standard street helmet. I think I've had 4 or 5 Neotecs over the years. My main issue with the Neotec 2 is the chin vent that doesn't stay in position, and the little side visor latch that you sometimes have to fight to get it open, so I'm happy to see the design changes fix exactly those things. Shoei is pricey, but at least they're quiet and all-day comfortable. A modular is a must for glasses and I'm happy to skip the prehistoric d-ring experience.

I love the LS2 X advantage Carbon fiber Bluetooth in my opinion is hands down better than SHoeis. You get so much more for less and it is just as good as the shoei
