Epic show done with loving attention to historical detail and Japanese culture. No shortcuts were taken. the authenticity screams out at you as it draws you in. Through out all this hoopla the humility and graciousness of Hiro Sanada stands out. Truly a work of art from the heart. Congratulations

Cosmo Jarvis seems like such a humble, slightly ackward individual. I hope we see more from him. The show so far is one of the best I have ever seen, its beutiful to look at, has incredible dialogue, incredible story and the cultural dynamic is what makes it special.

A truly thoughtful answer from Cosmo

The whole cast was amazing for this incredible show. The story is a timeless classic & the attention to detail with the world building whether it was the costumes, sets, etc was all top notch but it was the acting & the characters that brought it all together. Hitoyuki Sanada as Torunaga, Cosmo Jarvis as Blackthorne, Anna Sawai as Mariko, & Tadanobu Asano as Yabushige all absolutely crushed it. I really liked Takehiro Hira as Ishido & the actor who played Buntaro, Shinnosuke Abe. They all brought so many layers, depth & nuance to these roles which is why you even like the bad guys or a-holes like Yabushige, Buntaro & Ishido. Takehiro Hita’s English is pretty flawless. If this phenomenal cast doesn’t receive any awards for their work on Shogun, it will be a travesty. The only bummer is that it’s over & there is only one season, but man, they absolutely nailed it. It was a tall order to remake this for modern times as both the novel & 1980 TV Miniseries are much beloved & culturally important yet they pulled it off flawlessly.

Takehiro Hira is a great vilain! I know because you can really feel antagonism towards his character "Ishido". Brilliant, just brilliant!

Great show. However even this one can't top the original Shogun TV series from the early 1980s.

Cosmo Jarvis！？ Couldn't there have been another actor in the U.S. more suitable for this role?

Why they selected Cosmo J for this role I will never understand…🤔🙄
