Director: Shoko, I need you to hold this guitar during the recording Shoko: Sure, you want me to play it? Director: Were you not listening to my instructions? I said HOLD IT Shoko: ....

I lived in Japan for 8 years and I'd ALWAYS sing this at my favorite karaoke bars. I got so good at the lyrics, Japanese people were surprised when they'd hear me lmao.
I'm a gurren lagann fan and I'm not gonna lie. I literally cried at the end of the show. It was so badass the way Simon drilled a hole into the anti spirals #GurrenLagannForever
stachestar "Mecha" is a broader name for the genre of anime that deals with giant robots and the type. Yes, the gunmen are the ones specific to Gurren Lagann, but the mecha refers to are the broader term for "giant robot in anime", or at least that's how I understand it.
*Anti-Spiral* "How can this be? Where are you drawing all this power from?" *Simon* "We evolve, beyond the person we were a minute before. Little by little, we advance a bit further with each turn. That's how a drill works." *Anti-Spiral* "That is the path that leads to extinction. Why can't you see the pathetic limitation of the Spiral race?" *Simon* "No, that's YOUR limitation! You sit here closed off, locking away other lifeforms like some kind of king. That's nobody's limitation but your own!" *Yoko* "He's right, we humans used to have somebody much greater than us! For his sake alone, we'll keep on moving forward!" *Nia* "I've staked everything! I make good use of the human spirit too!" *Simon* "Mark my words, this drill will open a hole in the universe. And that hole will be a path for those behind us. The dreams of those who've fallen, the hopes of those who will follow. Those two sets of dreams weaved together into a double helix, drilling a path towards tomorrow. And that's Tengen Toppa!!!! That's Gurren Lagann!!!!!! My drill is the drill that CREATES THE HEAVENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" *GIGAAAA*.................................*DRIIIIIIIIIIIIILL*.................*BBREEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKK*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Alright, we're going to use one of your songs for possibly the best anime of all time. The song's going to be real inspirational, defining a modern day legend. This really gets blood pumping for tons of people. So for the video we're just going to have you hold a fake guitar and look real bored."
***** dude its imposible for them to know the infnite epicness of the Serie, no one could even imagine how an anime can be that fkng exciting and epic, so i forgive them. face the fact that the song its not that good for it self, withouth the emotion of the final fight or the gurren lagan images
@@Poneglyph If you're a musician or someone in the music industry then you can tell. I'm not at that level but maybe OP is. I don't doubt this chick could easily sing this, her cover of that jojo song waa staggering
Even better - She herself interviewed Hirohiko Araki, author of JJBA, and during that she mentioned wanting to get it on with Jotaro. Or something to that effect :D
this complete babe once told Araki (jojo's) she wants jotaro to be her husband and call her a bitch and spit on her. this interview (she was interviewing him) is on camera and araki reacts so wholesomely but has no fucking clue what to say to that. i only bring it up to say that this woman is insanely passionate and she fucking NAILED the tone for this track. ttlg was a work of art and this song brings me to tears to this day.
The song isn't made by Aniplex. Probably why. Though SAO's opening music video (made by Aniplex) didn't have swords or cool cloaks and shit. I'm really dissapointed.
@@ibrahimshamsi4845 I'm not sure if I'm too late but she interviewed Hirohiko Araki some time ago, the full interview is on youtube. Watch and you will understand why
Whenever I listen to this song it takes me right back to watching Gurren Lagann in my dorm room as a college freshman in 2009. Kind of makes me mourn for the loss of the person I was, if you'll pardon the seriously overwrought, incredibly sappy sentiment. haha Like, idk, I haven't changed THAT drastically over the last fourteen years or anything. Sure, I'm in my 30s now, but I'm still the same person in general. But when I hear this I can't help but miss how I felt about... just, LIFE, back then, y'know? Everything seemed so much simpler. I think we can probably all relate to that on some level.
i definetly feel you, I find it helps to choose one thing to do to satisfy that you, cause who knows, there is probs some 2009 left in you yet, maybe rewatch the show for the hells of it
@@StrawberryEV Oh there definitely is, I still like to make the same kind of art, I still write the same kind of music. I still like JRPGs and weeb shit. Just don't have as much time for any of it anymore haha
For those we leave behind, and those yet to follow. We evolve, become better than we were, become more than we were a minute ago. If you dig, dig to the heavens!!

Perry Dunetz Somehow I doubt that she's an otaku, given that otaku have unhealthy obsession with things. And ... aren't really related to weeaboos in the slightest, aside from the fact that a distressing amount of weebs call themselves otaku because they have no idea what otaku actually means. Well. I guess if you really hate a weeaboos, you'd see them as otaku, but weebness as a whole tends to be a lot lighter than otakudom.
She was only 18 years old here... Nia will be always in our hearts 😭💕 THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SORAIRO DAYS AND SONO CHI NO SADAME AND INTERVIEW WITH ARAKI! (jojo mangaka)
Listen up: what can you hear? Does my voice simply disappear, Sucked away into the void, so empty and so dark? If there is more to this world, Then I can be certain at last That this drive burning within Has some role to fulfill I was crushed by the longing welling up inside And I had just surrendered Without having touched the air above the ground or the endless sky So I began to run Because I feel it, even now, These sensations overflowing in the beating of my heart I say Carpe Diem As I am reaching for my goal We'll create our own tomorrows 'till this world is finally whole The answer I have found Will always burn within my soul Time goes on, nothing will last I will not hold onto the past I cannot waver again because I am afraid No more doubt, no more regret No more things to make me forget That I am destined for more, and it's all in my hands I have traveled so far and learned so many things By following your shadow And now I can see that it is only me who can seize my fate I listened to your words, and I can hear them even now 'Cause they echo in this memory that I hold deep in my heart I've found the reason why, and I just know it's here to stay: I was born into this world so I could cherish every day The answer I have found Will never ever go away All these truths revealed themselves in a way that was so natural and warm Those precious days of youth haven't yet come to end, and they will return So I began to run Because I feel it, even now, These sensations overflowing in the beating of my heart I say Carpe Diem As I am reaching for my goal We'll create our own tomorrows 'till this world is finally whole The answer I have found Will always burn within my soul
@@KyuJuEX099 i'm pretty sure that their translation is inaccurate because it's showing how you could potentially **sing** it if you were to do a cover in english. if you listen to the song while reading this translation, the breaks in the text follow along really well to the breaks in singing... as well as the rhyming, which wouldn't typically be there if you directly translated it. which is really cool! i'm curious if they took it from a cover or something-- if not, this is a lot of work!
@@PepperBMinty This is Geekyfandubs' translation of the song. She has a video where she sings it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-T4f7np2sGMY.html
As everyone should remember, the bass player in every worthy japanese song goes the hardest. Divergences, convergences, and miniriffs are perfect on that part here.
i just hit 135lbs on bench today to this song was psyching myself up and timed it so i lifted the bar off the rack precisely at 0:48. was kinda anticlimactic i totally thought i would fail but i was not expecting the one rep to be stupid easy. never really did one rep maxes but now i can proudly say that my first PR was 1 plate to sorairo days. thank you gurren lagann
Saekano brought me here. Listening to that live house bit and thought "Nooo, they're not playing Sorairo Days are they?" Then the other guitars and drums kicked in, and I was transported to a time where anime were more than 12 episodes long, and where little kids could pilot robots and shout about drilling to pierce the heavens!
No time for mopping around guys. Simon already fought the hard battle we naver have to take, we just need to preserve his fighting spirit in us, keep fighting no matter what. Be the mvp for yourself
If Japan had to take on an anime intro as their national anthem I feel like it would be a close one between this and Evangelion's Cruen Angel's Thesis for most iconic
I watch Gurren Lagann in 2010 or 2009 (I was 5 or 6 at the time) and still remember cuz of this song, I watched the seasons and movie OVER AND OVER. I MISS THEM SO MUCH. *wipes of tears*
ThunderGun2 if that were the case, then the transcribed romaji of what they said would have been "giga doriru bureiku". Listen to it, that's clearly an A at the end rather than a U, hence "breaker"
Listesing her sing Sorairo Days in the First Take, the song feels different. In that rendition the song feels like power is is always there within you, the og version it feels like its swelling from within you.
This og one have youthful, reckless energy. The FT have this mature, experienced feeling. Both are good, it's like while we get older and knew better, we still keep the same spirit inside
de tantos animes que he visto, puedo decir que este es el único que me ha echo llorar y mucho de la emoción y es ahora mi favorito, es para mi perfecto dentro de su contexto
