I agree also. Had gone to see this movie during Charity show in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania🇹🇿 in 1975. Paid 25 bucks then as opposed to 8 bucks.

The shooting of this film started in 1972. Amitabh Bachchan at that time had not become the star yet. In fact Dharmendra suggested his name to Ramesh Sippy for the character Jay. That's why his name is at 4th number.

Original inspiration of this music can be found here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CdL__zuZvpA.html. The story of Sholay at many points literally copies from this film. Once this lady reaches her home, she will find dead bodies lying on floor all covered in white sheets. It's a Western film - "Once upon a time in the West'.

Clearly ramesh sippy was heavily inspired by 1970 movie Once upon a time in west...this scene of going from railway station to house was inspired from that movie, so was the scene where gabbar kills thakur's family including the background music when gabbar is shown on a horse on top of that hill....
