I saw the original 70mm Stereo version in a cinema that was showing huge Hollywood blockbusters in 1975 and the stereo wide audio was truly awesome especially when Veeru ( Dharmendra) finally finds out that his mate Jai ( The mighty big B ) had been cheating with a double headed coin so Jai would win every time calling heads. In his disgust he throws the coin on some rocks and here the stereo effect was brilliant as I heard the coin slam across the rocks panning in stereo from right to left! The top photography by ace cameraman Dwarka Davecha was astounding. Sholay to-date remains a classic in terms of story line, action sequences, and fabulous musical score by the inimitable RD Burman. The great stereophonic effect was used to enhance the musical score too. One of my favourite all time Hindi movies .
Government of India in 1975 thought that there was too much violence in the movie and wanted Ramesh Sippy (Directory) to cut the violence especially the last scene where villain is murdered. That scene was re shot and was declared that Villain surrendered to the police
@@vivramtohul6313 One more thing; Sholay wasn't doing well at the start so they thought of cancelling Amitji's death scene. Just think about that. And the reason he died was mainly cause villages didn't allow women to marry twice, even though the men could marry any amount of times they liked. If he'd survived, he would have married Radha (Jaya Bachchan's character).
this video is digitally corrected copy and not the original one. this is the 3D version. you can see the bullet while the inspector breaks the hand cuffs. and also the original movie didnt have the stabilizer. a big granny camera and all those horses would have to really run that fast to look good. lots of wire work to make horse fall.
Get these two guys and the other two people that react with you to watch and review the movie :) i hope you told them that Sholay changed indian cinema and is considered the greatest movie ever made, the legacy it left behind is something that most likely will never happen again :) this was the first hindi film I ever watched in my life, pretty great introduction for a 4 year old to the indian movie industry lol

Such a shame you guys don't understand the dialogue because it's the best movie ever in Bollywood for a good reasons. My favourite ever easily still till this day.
Train fight scene similiar to scene from 1959 film The Northwest Frontier. Jai and Veeru pair in Sholay is similiar to Butch Casidy and Sundance Kid pair of Paul Newman and Robert Redford or the pair of Rod Steiger and James Coburn in A Fistful of Dynamite from Sergio Leone.
Well to answer your question, its a freight train carrying things such as coal and oil etc and other minerals which at that time were expensive and used for most of energy purpose. Gangs in the remote areas used to stop trains and take the stuff to sell off illegally for financial gains. Hope this gives some context.
Sholay 1975 is must watch bollywood movie.. at that time there is no visual effects but each and every character gives a damn role in this movie.. Must watch highly recommended movie 10/10 🤘
My copy is the DVD from Eros International. The runtime is 3 hours 24 minutes, so keep an eye out for that. In the theatrical cut, the cops stop Thakur from getting his vengeance, and Gabbar Singh is arrested, even though he's already proven that it's easy for him to escape prison. In the director's cut, Gabbar Singh gets a satisfying death scene.

Sholay is one movie which has remained popular even today after 45 years since release. The dialogues are gems literally. Unfortunately for the non-Hindi audience some of that fun gets lost. E.g. Just prior to this whole train robbery scene, Thakur asks the visiting jailer about these two criminals Veeru and Jai. He says they are totally useless people - like a fake coin - a fake is a fake from both sides! Then Thakur says, "That's where Coins and Humans differ!" and then he goes on narrating this entire train incident. At the end he explains that while these two are not the good guys, they haven't lost humane feelings and somewhere there is goodness inside them. But explaining this in English no way feels like original Hindi dialogue.

satya would be in my list of top 50 all time bollywood movies great movie, so would haider omkara and sholay. Rest would not be in in top 50 list.. dabang 2 are u serious lol cmon dude..salman isnt known for its acting skills...my choices would be watch movies of guru dutt, he is one of the greats..watch mother india(1957), guide(1965), watch movies of bimal roy(director most of them are classics), watch movies of nasserudin shah mostly from the 80s(the best actor in bollywood in my eyes) and watch movies of shyam benegal another great director..these are just handful..i can go on forever but anyway among new its simple..watch movies of anurag kashyup mostly gangs of wasseypur, vishal bharajwaj( director) which you have on your own list, watch movies of aamir khan especially lagaan and rang de basanti, movies of director dibakar banerjee , and i also like movies of zoya akthar. Again these are very handful.
Ani16 As far as Dabangg 2, I had to put at least one dumb action movie on my list. Dumb action movies are my favorite genre. I keep meaning to catch up with Anurag Kashyap. He's made a bunch of movies I want to see, but I'm really short on time.

released in 1972 was the highest budget film of that era no one watched 😂 thn the makers re released it in 1974 only to find out it was killing all the competitors and because a cult classic and milestone in indian cinema ❤️ just like the Godfather in Hollywood ❤️
We haven't gotten a lot of Malayalam requests, but yeah. We've reacted to some Malayalam scenes. We've only seen one full Malayalam movie so far, Pulimurugan, and we weren't really into that one, but we'll probably check out more at some point.

Hi Dear English guys, your reaction to the two loely , good ,fun loving criminals is --probably they thinking that they are to be hired by the police later on -is not correct guess, neither of the three including the police officer has even a flint idea of hire later on. Because even the police officer was not tortured by the main villain decoit-Gabbar. This scene is a flash back of the past memory, that the police officer is telling the jailer why he chooses these criminals to hire. Please , Dear English guys, dont take it ill.
