I’m going on 74 and I find I still strive to be competitive. Don’t use age as an excuse to not push yourself.

I try not to but I get more bitter with every ache and pain as I age, lol. I'm starting to call 20-30y Olds youngsters.

Like you say, I treat it like a stage. So far, the results have been gradually increasing. I used to get nervous and always wanted to do my best but would crash and burn. Now I just come up with a stage plan like I normally would, go over it in my head, and try to execute it to the best of my abilities. I think that's going to be the best representation of your real skills/classification. Really enjoy your videos man. Stay safe.

They are usually short speed shoots. Shoot the points, clean to win the MATCH.... You won't do that on a classifier, but you can LOSE the match on them. I made GM when I quit chasing it, and just shot them like any other stage.

How may seconds do your glasses shave off?
@isaaclockwood1839
@isaaclockwood1839 2 года назад
About 10% due to the auto-targeting it has.

Great advice. I definitely have been running into that issue on my classifiers. I’ll start working on these tips to hopefully pull myself out of my head. :)

Hey Isaac! Great video, as always! I have the pretty big problem that i f***** miss my draw/grip when i go to the range. No matter how good and often i dryfire. Once i´m one the range, i feel like the frist human to ever hold a gun. It drives me crazy. I´m not super bad, i shoot IPSC and finished 90% at our nationals here, but i start to fear the draw as i miss it that often in live fire -> wich leads to a bad grip -> which slows me down. Any ideas ?
@isaaclockwood1839
@isaaclockwood1839 2 года назад
Try to add match like pressure to your draw practice and all practice for that matter. I do it by visualization and using a partner to hold each live fire run a countable.

What are you using the black strip of tape on the close targets for?
@isaaclockwood1839
@isaaclockwood1839 2 года назад
Good eye. That's going to be another video. I use them for a couple of things, from finding the center of the target to where I'm favoring the target and for a draw drill I do as well.

"One for one on steel, all Alphas." Under what circumstances does it make sense in a classifier to shoot "Center of Available Target Area" instead of surgical Alphas on partials?
@isaaclockwood1839
@isaaclockwood1839 Год назад
Basically never since Classifiers are so low on points
