Een emotionele ontlading van gevoelens. Het is niet mooi, maar die Duitse goalie had gewoon zijn "Maul" moeten houden, dan was dit niet gebeurt. En Duitsers zijn nu eenmaal slechte verliesers. Don't know myself but don't think it's a rule. It's just beneficial to do so. Like the reporter said early in the vid, to hide his movements from the keeper.
Honorless and embarrassing. What is sport without sportsmanship? An unfortunate twist to an otherwise wonderful Dutch gold. If you win, you celebrate, you don't bully others like a sore loser.
@@dutchieq3059 The comment was unnecessary, for sure, but too mock the opponent after you've won it all is a bit different than having a big mouth before the match imo. Nail-biting shoot out. Congratulations The Netherlands. By the way, what was up with that German team member running like a crazy loser towards the Dutch team trying to disturb their celebratory moment? Very unsportsmanlike.
They didn't show it in this section. But the dutch guy that scored the last shoot-out goal ran over to the German keeper and tapped in on the helm and shussed him. Like in a very unsportslike way, so yes the german guy rightfully was lived about it. Hindsight ofc it's still better to let it go even when a stupid dutch guy started it. (They did show the moment on the dutch livestream that I watched)

@@rockfella1377 Of course the goalkeeper better couldn’t have said that. But what the Dutch player did was disgraceful. There is no excuse for humiliating a person at the moment he is defenseless.
The dutch player just showed the keeper that he should keep his mouth shut next time. But now all of a sudden it's the dutch who are at fault?? So trash talk about the dutch is ok and a finger in front of your mouth is not okay. Welcome in today's world.
Yeah let's not forget the the people defending Messi when he starting taunting van gaal for trash talking in 2022. But noooo, when a dutch player does it it's bad. Bunch of hypocrites. It's sport, trash is being talked and trash is being delivered back. It's just banter, grow up and get over yourself
Grow up. How is stating that you are better and the opponent fears you even considered “trash talking” In no way does it justify mocking an opponent after he has been defeated. Sickening and petty
Guess I dont know the rules, but why do they have to get so close to the keeper? They are closing down their shooting angle if they get so close. Wouldnt it be more efficient to shoot from a bit further away?
Also the sticks seem to be quite stiff and not made for the same kind of shots you'd see in ice hockey or floorball. In those sports having the goal be this size would make scoring in penalties trivial.
That German retake decision of the referee/video judges was ridiculous. Why? Because the German player knocked with his leg against the back of the goalkeepers head. Forcing him down on the ground and the bal. Justice took place after missing the second try.
@@rengartis6591 I don’t know what the rules are but indeed the German player forced down the head of the Dutch keeper with his leg before the ball became unplayable.
The Dutch goalie fell on the ball, so the ball was not playable for the German at that moment. Rules say that the shoot out has to be taken again .. If deliberate duck on the ball probably a penalty shot from 6 metre..
Lets get over this shall we. Duco apologized and this is what he German captain said : he is a jong player and doesn’t quite know how to handle his emotions, that’s over and done with. He deserved to win the gold medal . The end.
Winning against Germany is even better? That is what you said ok? Tell where is located the Nederlands? Is somewhere is Europe? Or not? Ah I know where it is. It was an ex colony of the German empire isnt it? A country who speaks a lousy language isnt it? Or is it a nation who grow up strealling and robberyng other countries in South América etc etc?

Germans are the better winners by far ;-) That´s why the whole world loves to come to germany, not only as refugee but also as visitors.

The german goalie shouldve kept his mouth shut. If you say before the game the dutch team is scared and they dont stand a chance you can expect a little dig.
@@MrKrekkie the story behind it does not justify the behaviour. the behaviour ist not worth a winner, no matter what was said before. real winners let the winning speak. beside that: the loser is him to let that trigger him. in that way everyboday saw what a kid he is to let that tiny bit provoke him
The German goalkeeper Danneberg provoced the Dutch before the final by claiming in the press that the Dutch were afraid of the Germans and therefore wouldn't stand a chance. It only motivated the Dutch team. That was the reason they went up to Danneberg after the shootout and gave him te silencer. Wich made the German players furious.
The German goalie smiled when his helmet was tapped by Telgenkamp. He accepted it at the moment as he knew why Telgenkamp did it. The fights started when Weller felt the need to protect his goalie. All very understandable and logical. Anyone who thinks it takes away any of the joy we have for becoming Olympic Champions again, it doesnt. Matches against the Germans will always be special to us, and if the feel the need to provoce, we will always retaliate. If you dont like it, dont watch or start cooking. Edit: i have to admit the German Goalie wearing nr 74 is a good one.
Germany v Netherlands is like England v Scotland ×100 .German keeper only has himself to blame .Spouting off about the Dutch....Should have kept his gob shut as we say in England .Golden rule of sport never give your opposition incentive.
It’s not only that they were fighting for Gold. It’s beating the Germans! On penalties!! The Dutch are even keener to beat the Germs than the English. History is not easily forgotten, especially when the Germans so often win on penalties!

@@louisbest1674 That just sounds so weird to a ice hockey fan. Isn't the ball stealed if it's under the goalie? Shouldn't shooters just try to move ball to under the goalie if they don't have a clear goal position?
@@Jorma___since the prev commenter didn't give more contect ill have a go at it. Cuz I agree with you so I'll try my best to explain. In the rulebook if the ball is not playable you will get a penalty corner. (Like if it's not shootous to decide who will win). This is done so the keeper can not just sit on the ball. Furthermore it compliments the rest of the rules for example you also can't move ur stick too much if someone is challenging you. Because you make it impossible for the other person to get to the ball so you kill the game. Now the stupid thing is since shootouts basically only happen in tournaments the rules about this are not that good. They just kept the rules like they are during regular time. So if the keeper is on the ball it kills the game so you get a retake. Although I believe it shouldn't be like this

The German keeper trash talked before the game to the Dutch players on the way to the pitch… the Dutch keeper just reminded him after the last penalty that he’s not that special to trash talk before the game…
Rule 1 before an import match. Never, ever give comments in the media that might provoke your opponent ! ! That is why pro sporters of big teams give such boring interviews. They know that anything they say can get interpreted in particicular ways, or used against them.
@@mariannemerkx3185Yes, obviously the Dutch were afraid of the Germans when they didn’t dare to say anything back in an interview before the match but instead waited to act back until the match concluded in order to be sure that they have won 😂 doesn’t seem as if they were very self-confident before the match had finally ended
Hockey is such a nice sport, that a tap on the helmet results in a lot of commotion and even knocking a team mate down (China vs Belgium) does not result in any retaliation.
On behalf of the majority of the Dutch people, I would like to apologize to the Germans for the unsportsmanlike behavior of Duco Telgenkamp. I was terribly ashamed.
For people who want to know whole story and the people thinking the Dutch behavior would have been justified should read this: How about you take a page out of your own advice book and tell the actual whole story instead of a biased one for the Dutch? Saying the opponent would be ‘afriad‘ in the German sports-sphere isn’t supposed to mean that the opponents are in fact afraid. It’s a German idiom for ´we are a good team and the opponents know that, we don’t have to be shy‘. Translating it in a literal sense is absolutely incorrect in this sense. It basically comes from a self-critical POV and means ˋwe shouldn’t sell ourselves under value‘. This is purely on the Dutch side for translating it incorrectly in order to rail up the Dutch against the Germans. And the Dutch should know better considering that they are capable of speaking German very well + this idiom being a very typical one in Germany. In the very same Interview the Germans were complimenting the Dutch team a lot amid showed respect and admiration. But the Dutch media purposely left that out of their magazines and news, just like you are doing now. And either way it wouldn’t justify the unsportsmanlike behavior of that Dutch player, and especially not the Dutch player grabbing that one German player at his throat for trying to talk to that one Dutch provocateur. Quite insane of you trying to justify as if both would on the same level. But then you’re at the same time annoyed at what one German player had said before the interview? That makes zero sense. The behaviors the Dutch players was much worse either way. He also humiliated the whole German team with that gesture, not just one single player. A proper reaction would have been to say something back in an interview afterwards, instead of humiliating all of Germany. Not to mention that the Dutch do also conduct interviews before matches and are know for provocative comments, in all kinds of sports. A proper response of the Dutch would have been to say something back in an interview but I guess they were, in fact, too afraid to do that before the match ended 😂

A short reaction should not degenerate into physical reactions. The Netherlands has gone too far here. Regardless of this, the expression "they are afraid of us" was conveyed completely incorrectly. The Germans clearly emphasized the qualities of the Dutch team in the interview. It's just something they like to hide so you can get upset about something. The German field hockey boys are proud and have already given a proud interview on German TV. The Dutch are the bad winners

Cant they just, like, shoot on the goal? The goal is so big and i bet they have enough power and precision. I dont know anything about this sports, but all the penalties taken looked lame af
They used to do penalties up untill 10 years ago. The reason was that most of the goal keepers could'nt keep the ball out of the goal due to the speed of pushing the ball. Wich is abitt unfair. They have a better chance of keeping the ball out of the goal this way
