That's the kind of move you do on a girl who already likes you... A lot. And in a more intimate scenario, like the movies, or a park, better if it is a little dark. @kobdash it's not about "you're giving them too much attention", it's about letting them sit on the thought that, "hey, this dude is some what into me and giving me space to think about it" and allowing her the time to ease up and warm up to the guy. Like the comment said above, just talking in the lunch line or in the hallway and not pursuing them every moment of their free time is already enough of a move, gives the girl time to think about it when alone or with friends, and the next time y'all talk you can notice how easy she feels around you and push for a little more personal convo if it seems you're both starting to vibe.
