That's a beautiful antique firearm, wood and steel. It must not have been easy to find that brass for the rifle? The date range would have been a difficult time in Germany, WWI and treaty restrictions plus economic problems. I'm thinking this was probably a firearm for the wealthy.

I came here because the game Sniper Elite 4 features this weapon.

This gun is 16 gauge, but likely it is chambered for the 2 1/2" shell. I would not shoot modern 2 3/4" 16 gauge shells in it. Get some RST shells in the proper length.
