I don't think the earpro would've been enough, doubt even double layers with ear plugs. If you want to hear loud booms, go to an indoor range yourself. They're a whole other world compared to outdoor ranges.
The point is how loud it gets, I used to make 80-120 ft 30” pipe and bigger. Stick a loud ass speaker on one end and go to the other and feel each note damn near create a shockwave. Was the coolest thing ever.

Imagine drilling holes in that tube or whatever you’d call it. I was expecting that blowback to be that aggressive. Make that thing like a giant silencer..!
Oh Man, shooting through a tub. Our range started that crap ( any high power rifle ) We got Rid of the clubs president and his D... Tube. We got back to normal and everyone is Enjoying the range again. ( note ; we do have rules to keep everyone save )
Thats a wonderful idea for a indoor rifle range, i am thinking of doing this into a hillside for rifle distances of shooting ans saftey so no missed rounds keep going into the neighbors property. I could fire across the lake into a deep.hillside giving long distances ans saftey at the same time.
