Excellent- can't wait to try pushing two stops with my soon to be delivered M-A....... I always have to decide- walk on shady side of street- walk on sunny side- then remember my settings- with my digital- using auto ISO is a great help- still need to be aware of f stop...... with film- even harder- but I love your settings- 1/1000 and push ISO to 1600...... then all I have to remember- is 5.6 or f11 depending on light... easy..... I will try it out....... cheers
Thank you for each of your videos, I also try to take some pictures from time to time and the street is a good attraction. I tried it once and it's a great adventure.... :)
Nice and relaxing episode :) i liked the one with the mother and child where she holds his head the best. Liked the emotion in that one. Seemed like a lovely place to shoot just as you said. /Martin the swede.
This video feels like a blast from the past. It's been - what - 6 months since you left Mexico? Great to see additional content from your time there. I'd never thought about shooting Tri-X @ 1600 during broad daylight before, but you show how well it works. I can hardly believe I used to wax lyrical about Kodachrome 25, Fuji Velvia and Ilford FP4 back in the day. Seems like my starting point since I picked up my M6 this year is ISO 400 but I quickly run out of light vs with auto ISO on my Q2M and M10-P. BTW, I love pic #2, with #4 as my runner up.
Try to "pull" a Kodak T-MAX 400 to ISO 200, expose it as a ISO 200, develope it in a thin solution of Kodak T-MAX devoloper very gently with max 2 agitations for each 30 seconds in 11 minutes (I do not remember how thin the solution was, you have to experiment). It gives both good contrast and fine details in highlights and shadows with very pleasing grey tones.
Some nice shots. The first one gave me a good laugh! :) Suggestion: Maybe when there is already music playing in the streets you could fade out your background music?
Doofe Frage, aber warum fotografiert man bei strahlendem Sonnenschein mit 1600 ASA? Ich ärgere mich schon bei meinem Standard-200erter Film darüber, dass ich immer bis f11-16 abblenden muss. Lg aus good old Ostria, Stephan
good vid, just curious: why don't you develop by yourself? Tri-X is one easy film to develop at home... I enjoy this process a lot too and for me is part of the whole experiance... nothing like pulling the developed film from the spool and have a first glimpse on the negatives...
