Hi Martin. This is an object lesson in taking pictures that people talk themselves out of taking, that gorgeous hot light in the first shot or drive past humming and ahhing then missing the photo as a result, the final shot from the bridge. But, best of all. This is about a man, who, regardless of how long he's been taking photos, still gets excited about taking photos. Your love of photography as shown here will inspire a few people to go out more, take more pictures, and also get excited by the craft. Gwan, Martin.

Hi Martin, I love these gorgeous landscape images. Once again you astutely demonstrate it's not about having the latest and greatest equipment. It's about great light, composition and photographic technique. Thanks for the insightful and educational video.

What a great technical instructional video. Relatable in the common sense approach you apply to your photography Martin. One of my favourite videos that you have given us. Thanks a lot. Cheers

Awesome shots Martin! Nothing at all wrong with the D750..I was just looking at one with 4800 clicks in excellent condition for $850 USD

@MartinCastein I'm glad im not the only one who still sees the value in DSLR'S!! I mainly shoot BIF ( Eagle's , Harriers etc ) with a D500...The only advantage the Z9 and others have is the eye tracking but to me tracking with my hands and shooting in full manual is half or more of the fun..I'm afraid that if I go to a camera that does it all for me I would lose interest! I'm shooting more landscapes recently and I'm thinking about buying a gently used D850 and calling it good..Another thing I am noticing is that the used market F mount glass is really falling in price, I'm pondering over a Nikon 500pf listed now in excellent condition for like $2085 USD...that's $1500 of a new one! I think I will stay with the ole DSLR for a while and buy up the awesome glass people are giving away because they switched to Zed mount..

Probably lens matters more than the body. lens impacts framing as well as composition. That said , I’ve d750 and gfx 50r. I use d750 whenever I need the reach (e.g. longer focal length) otherwise I use 50r

Love these cameras.. but what is your best allrounder older Nikon?cheers!
@MartinCastein
@MartinCastein 10 месяцев назад
Best all rounder is probably the d850really, amazing high iso very good dynamic range and very very good autofocus system plus a tilt screen and great ergonomics. It’s probably the best all rounder and the d750 second as it’s lower megapixel little brother

Hi Martin! How are you doing? Didnt you buy a D800 for landscape? What did happen 😅? By the way. O found a used Canon R5 for 2500€ with only 10k actuations. The problem is... I came from Nikon... I actually was about to buy a new Nikon ZF when I saw this deal. Im selling my nikon equipment, I only had 2 lenses. But sisnce Canon RF doesnt have third party glass I dont know what to do. I would like to buy a used 135mm f2 L EF. Would it resolve good on a 45mp camera? But if I want a good portrait lens for small spaces, would a 35mm or 50mm have me covered? Which one? My budget is limited xD
@MartinCastein
@MartinCastein 10 месяцев назад
i cant answer most of your questions there without actually doing tests, id just be guessing, but what i would say is the boring answer that if you budget is limited save it. Its far better to have a financial buffer and feel safe than to have a new camera. If thats already taken care of then id say the canon non L lenses are reasonably good but you really want to be investing into the RF L lenses to get the most out of the R5.
@MartinCastein
@MartinCastein 10 месяцев назад
Oh and regarding the D800, i really want a tilt screen for landscapes. It just makes life much easier doing landscapes. Now thinking about z8.....

Great shots. Why do I Always want to get the gear you are using? I know it's at least 90% you that made these shots, not the gear. Tempting to ask what lens but no, don't say. 😊

hahahah noooo dont do that, its just me being nostalgic for things, its all about vision and how you see things.

Thank you!, RU-vid is just like that, from what I see eventually people just get promoted and the channel goes nuts but takes a few years of getting nothing for it to happen, unfortunately. So we will see!

I really enjoyed this video, thank you. I’d love a vid on setting up the D750 - it seems to have some great features! Reason I ask is I have a D750, but really, have no idea about the features, or setting it up for efficient use. I’m just starting on a Postgrad photography course and could have traded in for a snazzy new camera, but elected to stick with the D750. Yes, even though I know relatively little about setting it up!
