The man definitely knew his way around a gun. With the amount of barrel and rifling it’s hard to believe he could be that accurate. All I can say is “ I am impressed “.
I loved growing up watching these incredible men. Bob Tom Byron Shooting USA is some of my fondest TV memory’s as a child. I remember one episode where Jim mentioned shooting machine guns in Vegas was more fun than Disneyland. Well that stuck with me and as a kid I never wanted to go to Disneyland. I wanted to go to Vegas and shoot machine guns.
@@hanc37 Oh yeah. And he'd shoot balloons at 100 years with a .44 S&W. They also had the archer Byron Ferguson, and the shotgun exhibitionist Tom Knapp. Really great program!
I watched them back then, and would pay to see them again, as well. If that show were made today, The mere sight of a gun would undoubtedly 'Trigger the delicate'. They would throw such a tantrum that there would be no hope for a second season, Unfortunately.
Me too. I graduated in ‘04 but I remember him. My principle and I would talk about him all the time. He even showed me his single action colt he had in his truck at school. Nobody cared about it back then. We even went hunting in the morning before school and just kept our deer rifles in the truck on the gun rack. No one even batted an eye.
That`s what fingers end up looking like when you shoot pistols a lot;powder residue & gun oil will do that to them.Don`t think Mr Munden ever claimed that he didn`t practise.
I noticed all your other videos are no comment.......... You need to open them up for comment!!!!!! This man needs to be!!! Let known he is a legend!!!!
.45 Colt 2"barrel 780 fps(according to Mr Munden)...probably about 5" high.No big deal;the BIG deal is handling a pistol with that amount of expertise.THAT`s impressive.
Was this a 45 colt only? If there is such a thing? Where the rifling goes all the way to the case mouth. American Derringer made on in 45colt only but they only rifled the last 1/2.

@@WImob420 aha, I see! Would you mind enlightening me on the specific differences between this Derringer .45 and a regular handgun, let's say a 1911? It is probably because I have never even seen a real gun with my own two eyes before (not hyperbole or exaggerating! It really is true!), but what exactly makes this such an amazing feat? My apologies for my inexperience with firearms, but they are highly illegal where I live, in every shape or form, black powder, bbguns, smoothbores, doesn't matter. Everything, including airsoft "toy" weaponry, all air rifles no matter the power, crossbows and even slingshots capable of imparting more than 30 joules of energy (and up to 50 and after that 80 joules with a special civilian training license) to a projectile are 100% really f*cking illegal and *cannot* be owned for any reason whatsoever. (Yeah, what a f***ing buzzkill, I know, and I am painfully aware of this fact every time I watch epic American gun videos, etc. Welcome to Europe 🤦♂️☹️) Now back to the video, and I have to admit that I am failing to see why this is such an achievement? I really don't see why, to me it is just someone shooting a steel target at 75 yards with a rifled .45 handgun? I must be missing many things? Would you please help me understand? ☺️😇
@@TheBauwssss Its somewhat hyped up, but derringers have a reputation for being very inaccurate. There is some legitimacy to that, because the shorter the distance between the front and rear sight the more difficult it is to shoot accurately. They're also not popular so not many people have actually shot a derringer. Part of the problem is that they have 2 barrels, and each of those barrels hits to a different point of impact. If you have a derringer locked in a vice so that you're aiming at the exact same spot with both shots the bullet from the top barrel might hit 6 inches above and 4 inches to the right of what you are aiming at, while the bullet from the bottom barrel might hit 9 inches above and 3 inches to the right. Derringers also have fixed sights, so you can't move them so that you'll hit what you're aiming at. However you should note that the guy in the video was sponsored by the company that made the derringer he's using, so that particular gun was probably specially made by the factory to hit where the sights are aimed. You can see at 1:46 that he only loads one shot, and its in the bottom barrel, that's probably the barrel that the sights are calibrated for.
I really don’t think that Bob is aiming the gun to do these shots….Him aiming the gun is just a formality for the audience…..He feels these shots when he pulls the trigger….like a telepathic thing…That’s how he does it….I think he could probably do it blindfolded if he ever tried it….But Mabe he at least has to be able to see the target in order to feel it when the barrel is perfectly in line with the target….I don’t think he’s actually aiming the gun…..He’d miss a lot more shots if he actually aimed the gun.
A wide bullet like the 45 has a large wide area for tolerance. How about a greater challenge by trying that with a .22 !!!! It would be MORE impressive !
