This was a very interesting story; however the reporter in the episode ruined it by his over the top, dramatic narration. Definitely not a fan of his reporting style where the interviewer should be more neutral and less opinionated.

I got adopted from Romania at 11. I grew up in poverty and when I was exposed to a comfortable life, I was forever grateful. I can’t imagine plotting my parents’ demise after all they’ve done for me and the opportunities and love they provided me with. Greed is a sickness of the mind

I can imagine growing up adopted is extremely hard. Not feeling like you belong to anyone or have a tribe. I'm so happy you found a tribe and hope you make a tribe of your own. I just had my 1st daughter at 45. We have basically no family. Died off or just not part of our life. She has no brother or sis ,cousins or grandparents. It's my worst fear she ends up alone. I have a special place in my heart for people who have felt alone like you. Wish you the best

Dateline did a more in depth story on this case. 48 Hours skipped over the part where her son & his wife tried deleting their texts messages but they didn’t realize that on Apple devices those messages are still saved on other Apple devices. For that woman to only get a few months is a disgrace because you don’t do things like try to delete your messages if you are not an active participant in the crime.

Even if one is a passive participant, they would still try to hide the crime. She didn’t stand to gain directly from the death of the Nick’s parents. She is to the crime, what a catalyst is to a chemical reaction.

@@vikramadoddamani first, that is COMPLETELY false. If you are a passive participant who doesn’t really know what’s going on you don’t actively try & hide your role, it’s just that simple. Second, they were married so she was going to directly gain from the murders of his parents. She had already planned on what car she was going to buy her mom with the money. That is the very definition of directly gaining. Third, she wasn’t just some woman who happened to be married to a monster. Her role in all of this was more along the lines of Lady McBeth. Corey is such a strong, beautiful woman. I am so sorry for her 🙈 such a great act - to take an orphan from Ukraine and raise him in such a loving family…. Give him everything. And then get this horrible “thank you, parents”….. 😭 just heartbreaking

I try and watch every new 48 hours that I get a notification for, and this one has been the most gripping one to date. I'm not even finished and I can't let go of the edge of my couch. Thank you for this episode and many more to come!🤘

As the mother is still trying to process the loss of her husband, I can't imagine the instantaneous moment of being blindsided when she had fully realized the extent of betrayal from her own son. I wish the prosecutors could find some kind of additional evidence that would legally allow them to haul that evil Jackie back to jail. 4 months is an insult.

To all those folks that have told me “oh you’re going to regret not having children when you’re old, because they will be there to take care of you.” My response to that Bs is that having kids is a crap shoot. You can love them and give them everything and they still want you dead. I’ve seen too many parents in my personal experience that end up with adult children drug addicts, alcoholics, mentally disturbed… I’d rather die alone.

Honestly, I was thinking the same thing while listening to this story. I’m glad I never had kids. The cats disrespect me enough as it is lol.

Yeah, you should watch NO Contact, as in what one mother started bc her real daughter went No Contact when she grew up. She had no idea that so many parents all over America are suffering the same from their biological children mostly. It is so sad to read the heartbreaking comments!

I never, ever regret not having children. I have foster children and step children. Not the greatest joys of my life 🥴

LOL. I agree and disagree with you. I love my adult kids, but sometimes, one or two of them can really break your heart either because they mistreat you or because they mistreat themselves or both. Sometimes, your pets are more grateful than your kids, now that's for sure. And pets never argue with you nor borrow money from you!!! But I would not want to die alone; everyone needs someone, especially when you're sick in bed and you have no strength or desire to cook something, but you are starving to death!
