I love your guys videos! This one sealed the deal! Love down to earth Midwest people. I do not know anything about farming as I am an emergency veterinarian, but I swear we are people from the same roots! You guys are great!
Love the impromptu Dad “let’s go to work”. I’m convinced most ranch and farm dads are the same. Never pass up a chance for family time work. The memories will never fade.
Seriously best entertainment here on RU-vid. Everything included: games, fun, excitement, only the chocolate was missing ;) Even if I'm still lagging behind in the videos and haven't been to a live stream so far, great content! Keep it up! Greetings from Germany
This is so cool. I grew up in GI and my extended family farmed all over central NE. I haven’t been back to the state for a long time. It’s kinda nice to see it all again.
Thanks for your video. You are very positive and use decent language. Attitude is contagious and being surrounded by positive sources molds a person into that mindset. At least that's the theory I'm going by. I avoid sites and channels with vulgar language, but also the content is superb of course. I watched 10th gen dairy farmer and started looking at others. I'm not a meat or dairy eater but seeing animals, the business, the work ethic is wonderful. I eat whole food-plant based and eat wheat daily. It helped me get my cholesterol down to an ideal level, off of blood pressure medication, years of sustained weight loss. I needed to since I ate poorly and had rising cholesterol before.
Thanks again for another great video Laura!! Hope that pivot repair isn't too many dollars. Owning a business myself I always feel it myself when I see other business's overhead shoot up! ---Oh!! the video once posted after the live isn't displaying chat comments like the previous posted video stream did. Don't know if that might be a setting you choose when posting or not. :) Other RU-vidrs you guys might like. 1) Kelly Young- Nice girl that does tons of salt water fishing videos. Catch cleaning skuba diving. 2) JPthebeeman - His videos are awesome- totally therapeutic. He goes to hives and rescues the bees and helps home owners get massive hives out. He loves what he does. 3) Judah Clark is a buddy of Kelly Young and does salt water deep fishing videos. Nice laid back demeanor -very educational. 4) Sailing la Vagabonde - The first RU-vidrs I really started watching. Amazing couple that last year had a baby and sail around the world together. Amazing editing- song quality- content. They have also a Patreon etc. 5) Steveo1kinevo is a pilot and does flying videos etc. With your interest in flying, I think you would like him. 6) The Honeystead Bee keeping organic farming etc. There are a few others. Enjoy!!
Suggestion mark brock a Canadian crop farmer and because of a program he's involved in he went in February this year to look at how farmer do there crops in Australia and New Zealand. He came back with a lot of new ideas. He made some videos from his trip , it was cut short do to the virus.
I liked Monster M-80, it was the best (it was a tangy juice-infused monster). Unfortunately, they discontinued it :/ If you ever get your hands on one, drink it up! Also Java Monster (the coffee ones) are really good. PS Drone shots -- Great idea. Will add next level cinematography to your channel. Will help you as you get bigger. LOVE to see bird's eye view of the farm. Basically, your channel will grow because 1) you're smart and provide insight into an industry most people know nothing about, and 2) you have a good personality that makes me want to keep watching.
It's Nebraska still giving school permits at 14 that's when I got mine I was 14 when I lived in Nebraska, you guys are making me home sick! My sister lives in Murdoch Nebraska off of highway 50 south of Nebraska City, Love your blogs it's great I like when you show your family and it's pretty cool You live a cool life, go Big Red...
My youngest son, now a grown man doing chemistry at a bio tech firm, has that same sandy brown hair and green eyes and is also always the smart guy in the room. Your little brother Adam reminds me of him at that age so much it is like deja vu. My suggestion is that you just accept the fact that he is going to be in charge. Very cool to see the other family members.
I love your honesty about the piano 🎹. Someone asked how do you get the corn of the cob, The actually answer is, once the corn enters the main drum of the combine, it destroys the cob and separates the corn from the grain. There's lots of adjustments to do on a combine when changing crops,
Suggestion: When working a field or doing a task, Explain how big the field is and about how long it will take to do the task. I.e. In the previous video, you were removing the male stalks of corn. How big was the field and how long does it take to do the whole field. This will give the viewer an idea of how much work and how many hours a day you work. Love you videos.
He who walks behind the row..... then Laura's dad pops out of the corn 🌽 ! They are literally children of the corn!🤣🤣🤣 always always always ❤ ♥ 💛 💓 💖 💕 me some Laura!
Don't kill, grow, and you should do modeling ,your pos in the tractor was good 👍 👌and it was nice seeing your family 👪 pls always dunt your boots out you never know whats in them .
In 2024…this is such a cute video of a young and naive, Laura and BF Grant. They answer so many origin questions. Laura should probably pin this video to stave off the millions of questions she now gets.
Grant, I watched Casey Neistat’s videos too! Good times, haha. Some of my top favorite you tubers are ‘SmarterEveryDay’ and ‘Stuff Made Here’, although a bit more nerdy. BTW your awesome.
Maybe you could get a map of the world and put a thumbtack in every place/country a viewer is from. Would be very interesting to see where we all are from and how much of the world knows of you. To start, I'm from the Netherlands ;)
First remote control plane I got was/is gas powered. This was 1990's. I built it from a kit. It's a 1/5th scale Corsair. First time I flew it I dropped it right on the prop and snapped the prop in half. Which, as damage goes, is a really good thing to damage because you just put a new prop on. I lived in North Beach in San Francisco back then and found out later that I was breaking so many laws at once. Too close to shipping lanes (because of the radio RF near the Port Authority), in a residential area on Federal land(a park down at the marina, in the Marina), etc, But the wind is PERFECT down there because you get those sea breezes during the day and you can just about stay still and fly in place at full throttle because the wind is so strong. I'd flown triples there (stunt kites) and had a girlfriend at the time that didn't weight much more than 100 lbs. I had to hang on to the back of her jacket so she wouldn't do a Dorothy and fly away. Technically I was flying my girlfriend who was flying the kite because her feet left the ground pretty often. if not for the harness, it would have pulled the kite right out of her hands. I got dragged across the Marina Green on more than a few occasions and I'm 200 lbs. Probably more then because I was in pretty good shape. I did have pretty extensive RC Car experience before that. I'd had a sand rail that I could drive under cars in traffic on the street where I lived. I fixed that car so many times before I got that good at it. I can't remember how many sets of tires I went through from 180 turns and drifting it on pavement. It really was more an off road car but the street was just too much fun.
for people asking about Fendt: they're not commonly sold in the states since Agco bought the company, although they still appear on rare occasions. The 10-series and the crawlers are usually sold as Challenger. Also since Agco bought Challenger, Claas lost the distribution agreement they had, which means Claas has to get their machines to sellers on their own, which in turns means beyond their combines they're equally rare in the states.
I do the farming thing grow our own familey food hope my grandchildren Do the farming thing. It’s a healthy life style you sure are a fine little young lady. I have my granddaughters watching your Chanel They think you are so cool. Runing all thies tractors with all thies computers in them.
1:29:14 Laura, *"In the United States, studies reported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) showed similar findings. Approximately 52 percent of all car accidents occur within a five-mile radius of home, and 69 percent of all collisions happen within a 10-mile radius from home."* This is dated Mar 3, 2021 That said, I did a lot of time riding in the back of pickups, sitting on the side. Very rarely was there ever someone yelling at you to sit on the bed and not up on the side. Not to mention the dozens of hayrides on a rickety wooden hay trailer pulled by the most dependable vehicle there was in our area, a tractor. I don't remember once someone using a pickup truck for a hayride, it was ALWAYS a tractor. this was late 60's early 70's.
1:44:29 If you tig on some tool steel filler on the screw driver tip it will never bend again. You could snap it, but it won't bend. You can turn relatively crap tools into good tools with that filler rod by tipping them with tool steel filler.
1:53:28 I can't believe I've watched as many videos of yours till now and I'm only hearing "Working hard or hardly working" once. It's about the only reason I was happy to leave the farm was to stop hearing that! I heard it about 20 times a day when I was on the farm. And every time, the person said it like it was the first time to EVER say it.
I would say buy the DJII Mavic and get the whole kit. The kit comes with extra propellors batteries carrying case and a bunch of extras. It’s a bit pricey but worth every penny and you can fly it up to four miles away but will automatically return to its take off point when the battery get low. I have this drone my self and it runs around $1,500.00
love the channel. grant and his 6x6 and kale or cale should start their own thing. cale is so funny and direct. grant is just the shit pardon my french. c/kale is by far the funniest without trying to be. grant you are the man
I hear a lot of conversation about drones and I was investigating drones. I investigated the Alibaba app which is an Asian Amazon and drones are 10 times less expensive and the variety they have for farmers or just hobbyist is more extensive. They’re not too negotiable on price but the minimum or order quantity is negotiable as well as transportation. I hope this may help you
So erm, Hello Laura ~ You know how you leave youtube playing in back ground while youre doing something else, Well that was me this morning when some dude was interviewing you were ya explaing how you went viral after 1 video , i aint no farmer but i once seen a tractor though lol, So im in England but i started to follow the main man, the Character who plays Millennial Farmer which led me to welker's cornstars etc etc. Daddy Corn Star is the man, I lost my own father April so ive taken to him quite alot, But ya first farmer ive seen water boarding in their fields lol. Grant in that Polo shirt. Polyester shirts are the enemy of work. And that's when it's not hot out already. for me, polyester is poly no sir. If it ain't 100% cotton, it's 100% forgotten.
Hey Laura, from Traverse City,Michigan, the cherry capital of the world, love the channel. I do have a question about the farm do you ever deep rip your ground?
I’m a first responder and I remember responding to the first farming accident and i won’t ever forget that call I got out we’re the accident happened at and all you seen was the guys hat and blood still haunts me to this day
That was a great insight into just unplanned daily activities. Q regarding your radio etiquette, seems very formal, have notice others the same , why do you use call signs /numbers rather than names? Here in Australia it’s more like “Oi, Johno hurry your arse up already” 😆
My motorcycle recommendation for anyone is: a bike you can pick up from it’s side and get back on it’s wheels. If you can’t lift it, don’t ride it. There are tricks for getting a heavy bike off the ground. Learn them before you need them.
Radishes have a wide range of flavor profile and are great to eat in a salad. Many have a very strong flavor and that is likely why you did not like them. Try something like a white globe for a mild flavor. They are also fast to maturity so seed to harvest in less than 60 days. I have never seen radishes cooked.
two hotties all dolled up on a Saturday, your Dad is a great and patient man, thanks for the fun. God bless,,,,,,,,,,,,, and when you asked Grant if he had his "moisture probe" the kids all cracked up and I had to give them the eyebrow. and finger snap, and for crying out loud the kids are all saying "LOCTITE" they heard that from me.
