Your workshop has come a long way! I love how intentional you are with where things are placed and how they are placed. Awesome to watch it evolve

Love the shop. Working off a prusa mini and a cricket joy and fusion 360. Can't wait to ramp up to something like this :) great video!

Very informative. One of the best channels about the entire subject. I find the business information extremely helpful. Thanks!

6:55 love to see this type of stuff, it's super relatable. Most shop tours leave this aspect hidden, and I mean, it's great if one could leave all the personal stuff on a separate room, but I doubt most home shops are able to separate that. Great shop man, I'm taking some ideas, so thank you very much for sharing it

You are an inspiration! I will be losing my job and age discrimination is a real thing. You've given me some ideas and a pathway to use as a template (it will not be holsters). Thank you for sharing!

Good stuff. I love all of your tool and machine options. I just starting my 3D print business recently and i was faced with either getting a commercial space or a new home with a bigger basement. We went with the new home. I will be looking to add a glow forge and cnc to the line up but i will just subscribe to your vacuum form channel for that satisfaction. lol

I know it's probably too late, but on your CNC router, for the hold down clamps, you can make the long ones quick release just by switching from knobs to threaded stud cam levers. That way you can keep the height setting the same after the first adjustment. Also, for the end mill to cut the kydex, you want either an AiTn coated high speed steel OR cobalt high helix end mill for the feed rate you're running, and you might actually be able to run the feed faster than that. The thing with kydex is it's technically softer than aluminum, but it's more abrasive than aluminum, so you kind of want to treat it like a carbon fiber infused nylon.

Those hold down clamps sound great, I’ll look for them. Thanks for the tips on the end mill. I wouldn’t have thought Kydex would be that abrasive.

Create, Automate, Delegate - Awesome! I would switch from cura to prusa slicer, its awesome. Love the holster demo, what the heck is Kydex? We traveled to Wisconsin summer 2022, stayed at peninsula state park for two weeks. I would love to have a shop like this when we stop full time rv living, we also want 10-20 acres with a small home and shop in the gainesville Florida area, someday. 24:47 wheels on the workbench so smart when space is limited. 26:52 i think i like the gray background the best. Im sure i will be back to see the new expanded shop next year, something like a 5000 square foot warehouse because your business is going to explode. Thanks for sharing your shop. Larry

How cool would it be to have land and a big shop right!? Kydex is the brand name for a plastic that is 90%pvc and 10%acrylic.

You know I’ve always hated that sound of a fire arm entering and exiting a plastic holster. And in law enforcement you should not be telegraphing your move. So think about the next best thing in holsters,a silent plastic holster. So maybe lining it with a durable silent material. Just thinking.

I can't believe you don't have a 3d printed tray for that awesome battery setup!?! Update from further along in the vid...I meant to say 3 printed and then vacuum formed tray.

I wonder if a water jet would work better on cutting that out. If so you would have smooth edges that wouldn’t need sanded

Hahaha it is satisfying to watch it form. How decent are those printer covers for keeping heat in? I just put a real v6 on my cr10 v3.
@MartinsonManufacturing
@MartinsonManufacturing 2 года назад
I'd say they're pretty decent. I can get some good ABS prints with it. One enclosure is cloth and that one is okay. The other one is more of a rubberized material and then one keeps heat in better.

@@MartinsonManufacturing awesome thanks. Good luck with the business. I'd kill for half of your work area haha our house has an apartment in the basement. We don't rent it out but I used it as a workshop for a while but I could never get enough light. I use another room upstairs now with a giant new window so that's been great so far.

what would you recommend as a great first cnc or glow forge or 3d printer for a wood and slight metal worker? great tour Thanks.
@MartinsonManufacturing
@MartinsonManufacturing 2 года назад
I think I’d recommend the Onefinity Machinist CNC as a first machine. Really fun for wood working projects. You can also play around with some soft metals like copper and maybe some aluminum if you went really slow.

But won't the delegates feel slighted? Won't they consider their ideas and abilities on par with your own? Devils advocate talking. I have several patents and catch hell if I even appear to imply that those without patents are somehow less capable than myself.
