I totally agree! I especially loved seeing those radish necklaces that said “Be more Luna”. The entire store gives off such a loveable quirky vibe!

Yes it is illegal, copyright laws. Even things that aren't flat out HP but are recognizable as being HP inspired (or anything else under copyright), violates copyright laws. So legally Warner Bros could sue anyone making HP inspired products and profiting from them. The only way to avoid that would be to get a license, which is very difficult and probably quite expensive. And from what I hear WB has a team that checks for copyright infringement and will shut you down or worse if they find you. This happens a lot on etsy, yet there are still many who do it. It makes me nervous for this shop being showcased on RU-vid like this, she could lose everything, along with the other artists who have products in her shop. This is something I looked into a lot when I opened my etsy store because I originally wanted to create fan art/products and quickly realized the risk was not worth it at all. Now if you just wanted to make HP inspired things for gifts or something where you aren't charging money for it that's fine, but to sell is illegal.

@@L0vlyLulu As I thought. I'm surprised that so many people do it and I'm 100% sure they have no licence or whatever... And not only HP related - Disney, Marvel, DC, Tolkien... Every more popular thing and I don't really see them to dissappear (think maybe they care less in my country since we don't have here any Disney, WB or any other big company "place" (I mean like there is nobody that works for them here so it's impossible for them to discover shop with things like that in the middle of the city or whatever and people don't really report this anywhere...). But on the other hand it's so sad that it is hard to get that licence since they don't do quite things at all. I would understand if they did more things and make them affordable for more people and also more available in non-English countries. Because with payment 420-500$ (or 325-385 pounds) per month which is the lowest to middle paymant in my country and also the one that most people get. Most of us can't really get a thing worth 50$ or more. 50$ is a week of eating... World is fuc*** up. Can't understand why countries have so much differences in their salary when the things costs the same but in different currency.

@@karmen__ Yep, all of those things are protected by copyright laws. I have mixed feelings about it, on one hand I understand it's their creation, on the other hand they've made millions off them, do they think some handmade items inspired by their work is going to take away from them still making a crap ton of money? I DO understand not wanting someone making mass produced stuff based off their work, but in my experience the people who do hand made fan art do it because they truly love it, like HP for example, people who love HP and want to make fan art to share with other HP fans. If i had created something that had such a huge fan base and people were making their own art inspired by my creation I would think that's awesome. It's not like people are going to just stop buying the original stuff because some fans are making and selling products inspired by the original. Unfortunately that is not the world we live in.
