Another well done job Tommy and its definitely needed in my shop instead knocking over the paper towels on the floor
@OneMinuteWorkbench

Thank you, Daryl! It was definitely long overdue for my shop as well. Not to mention that grabbing a paper towel off of a roll that's not nailed down is just asking for difficulty....and an unrolled roll across the floor 🤣

I'm not a huge fan of my router mainly bc I hate buying the bits and dust collection is a pain so I think I will just use 2 pieces of ply glued together for the sides (1 with the dowel track and the other solid) love all the harbor freight tools. Your videos always exhibit your skill and creativity, glad you're not a tool snob!

Awesome video. Just be sure to measure your roll and to buy the same brand and size we built a cool rustic Outhouse toilet paper holder, then we found out that the toilet paper roll we had was small compared to a lot of other brands
@OneMinuteWorkbench
@OneMinuteWorkbench 5 лет назад
Thanks! And thanks for the feedback! I did some recon before deciding on the measurements. I used a Kirkland brand power towel roll to start with because it has a larger diameter than most. That said, I should have a wide variety of rolls that will fit, even the nice blue ones by Scott. Thanks again!

Nice to see those tools you built coming to good use. I know you're building a tool wall but have you seen Adam Savage's "tool cart". I can't think of a better person to build one of those than you. That is if you find it useful. I personally would love to have all my tools on a cart that I can roll around and have all the tools at the exact spot I'm working at instead of having to walk over to some drawers or a tool wall.

Great build. Simple but effective. BTW, have you considered converting that wall to a french cleat system?
@OneMinuteWorkbench
@OneMinuteWorkbench 5 лет назад
Thanks! I actually just finished building this tool wall a couple of days ago, and prefer this over French cleats, pegboards, etc. With just a flat board, I'm not limited to the specified rows. It's true that rearranging is easier with those systems, but I find them confining, and rearranging isn't something that I would do very often. I think though there are situations where people do have to rearrange often, and other systems would be a better fit for them. I hope this makes sense. Anyway, thanks again!
@btd2516
@btd2516 5 лет назад
Nice job, but thinking you might need a couple screws into the plywood, just in case.
@OneMinuteWorkbench
@OneMinuteWorkbench 5 лет назад
Thank you, and thanks for the feedback! I'll probably secure it (along with most of the other items on the tool board) with screws once their more permanent positions have been determined. That said, even just using pin nails, I'm surprised at how well they hold by just shooting a few at opposing angles. I'll probably leave some of the smaller items with just the nails because of it in fact. Anyway, thanks again!

Very nice. Two Q,s Are you doing a video on the entire wall build, and what brand are your chisels
@OneMinuteWorkbench
@OneMinuteWorkbench 5 лет назад
The chisels are Narex, and I will be doing a video about the wall, but not about every single tool holder on the wall. I will actually be doing a video about the chisel holder though, which should be out this weekend. I hope this helps!
@kevinstephens1109
@kevinstephens1109 5 лет назад
Cool. I have limited space , I built the V2 bench , now I am looking at the back wall of the garage. I like what you are doing. I was considering a French cleat system but not really sold on the idea. I like that each tool or set of tools has its own spot, also it does look like you can modify the wall if neede@@OneMinuteWorkbench
@OneMinuteWorkbench
@OneMinuteWorkbench 5 лет назад
Thanks again for buying the plans and building the workbench. I think I remember that you wrote a review and sent me some awesome pics - thanks also for that. I hear you about French cleats - I'm not really a fan of the system, and definitely not a fan of pegboards (I've been wanting to get rid of my pegboard for a long time). I feel like most of those systems are too restricting - I want to be able to position the tools to maximize efficiency of space. With the way I'm doing it, you can definitely reposition them...it's not as easy as a French cleat or pegboard, but since I probably won't reposition things except once every couple of years, I think the better use of space is worth the extra bit of trouble in repositioning. I'll go over this more in the tool wall video, which (hopefully) will be out in a couple of weeks.

I noticed @ 4:52 when you installed that towel holder that your hand plane and coping saw holders were missing. Do you plan on doing a video for those as well?
@OneMinuteWorkbench
@OneMinuteWorkbench 5 лет назад
A lot of the holders I built for the tool wall were done off-camera because of the complication involved in building each one (each holder is custom). Some of the items took a couple of tries or more to nail something down that worked well. That said, I will probably go over most of the tool holders when I do a video fo the tool wall, and show the final results of how each one was built. If I find myself with a lot of extra time, I'll consider doing a rebuild of one of the plane holders step by step. I hope this helps!
