The new vest is gorgeous, Corrine! And your stripey socks are lovely. Maggie: your Herding Cats socks are so darn cute! Thank you, Jennifer, for sharing. Love the sweater. I love Tukuwool too! The pics of Ruth and Ed's visit to Shetland are amazing. Makes me want to go someday. Thanks for the share!
That is a gorgeous vest. Looking to see that pattern come out. I love Jennifer’s sweater AND the poster hanging “ the revolution will be knitted” twist on Gil Scot Herin. Lovely pictures of Shetland. What a magical place.
Last week, I had the absolute joy of visit the new brick and mortar shop! It was great to meet Jill and Maggie and to come home with some fabulous treasures! Hope to return one day!
I really enjoyed Jennifer's contribution to the shopcast! Lovely seeing the rest of you all today, too, as I'm knitting away at a shop sample for my LYS.
Wow… you guys are amazing. I found your website quite by accident and am so glad I did. I have been knitting off and on again for about 15 years. Started back when I was flying in the National Guard as I was away from home a lot and needed something to keep me busy. Kind of a closet knitter as I am a man. I’m a commercial airline pilot and knitting isn’t something we typically talk about😃. My wife knits also but she is much newer so I get to tell her what to do which is awesome!!! Just purchased the 2024 sock bag/kit and am just beginning the Agatha socks. I have done some double pointed needle knitting in the past and am comfortable with it so that’s how I plan to knit these socks. I have never finished a pair before so I am all in with you guys! Hope to knit tons. Mark
Have a wonderful vacation Corinne, well deserved! Enjoyed today’s episode, Jennifer’s sweater looks amazing, great job! It’s fun to see video segments from regular viewers and knitters like me. Very much looking forward to the Sweater KAL. This will be my third year participating. Happy knitting 🧶🌻
What a lovely vest Corrine! So cheerful! I just wanted to say how fun it was to participate in the sock sprint with the added benefit of having a holiday gift completed! So exciting to hear that Emma from woolly mammoth will be in this years holiday box. So enjoyed all the photos from Shetland, Thank you Ruth and Ed!
I cannot wait for the Flowers of Fortrose Vest kit ! It is so beautiful, Corinne...and the colors Maggie chose are so cheerful together ! I think I'm finally getting my groove on with Fair Isle knitting...and I just cut my 1st steek on an Icelandic cardigan Yay !!! I do so appreciate knitting with yarns from interesting places around the world, like Scandinavia and Shetland with its deep woolly history and rugged beauty...TWT definitely curates the best selection around and I Thank You for that ❣
Love the color combo of the Fortrose vest! Jennifer's sweater is so impressive, as are Ed's Shetland photos. Thanks for the sneak peek of all the new things!
A wonderful Shopcast as always, I finally made my first purchase and recieved it awesome could'nt wait to squss them omg❤ another purchase is sure. Corine your vest came out beautiful. Thank you Both Maggie, Corine what an awesome crew. Can't wait to start my socks.❤
I loved seeing the photos of Shetland! I was there for last year’s wool week. I never would have dreamt of going if had not been for Corrine and Maggie and The Woolly Thistle.
Thanks ladies for a wonderful episode, as always! Shetland is absolutely breathtaking! The Fortrose vest is gorgeous, as are the socks. I love these podcasts, it makes me feel as though you guys are my local yarn shop-even though I’m in Ohio and you’re in New Hampshire!
I have learned a lot about Scottish wool and love the interviews. I also enjoy the Postcards from Fair Isle even though the weather is such a challenge! 😂😂 And, I have learned about U.S. wool and mills that I never knew existed. So, thank you all for your research and for sharing your knowledge and finds with us. ❤
Great shop cast! The Fortrose vest is a complete stunner! Lovely colors and motifs. Jennifer’s sweater was lovely and I too, love Tuku wool. Finally, the images of Shetland were so beautiful! Thank you Ruth and Hubby for putting it together and with such lovely music!❤
Wonderful shopcast, I love seeing all the yarns, patterns, FOs and WIPs, and dreaming of future knitting projects. I'm looking forward to a road trip to the shop and to hopefully meet you in person. Maggie, I'm one of those who love the short row heel, it fits my narrow foot so well, and doesn't interrupt the pattern. I'm making several pairs of socks now with the flap and gussett, it's very cosy, and provides more fabric, so I'm learning to make it a good fit.
WooHoo! Friday. Shopcast. Socks!! I love The Sock Project. The section about heels is so valuable! And Summer Lee’s overall vibe is one to which I strongly relate. What have I learned in the process? To listen when the yarn speaks to me.! Currently enmeshed in socks, while pondering a sweater for the sweater KAL. Life is grand!
Another inspiring and enjoyable podcast, thank you Corrine and Maggie. I love the Fortrose vest and Maggie’s cat socks. I became a lover of vests this past winter when I discovered wearing vests under my winter coats allowed for more arm ease of motion than my heavy sweaters. So,I too will be patiently waiting for the Fortrose pattern.
I love the opening top, back there. so, so pretty!! So, much to learn and enjoy in this podcast. Thank you so much. Still working on my first sock -- I'll get it done... heading to the toe, scared, but, confident that I'll finish and start sock no.2 soon. thanks ladies, you are the best. Barbara.
Lovely sweater knitted by Jennifer. I so enjoyed Ruth’s pictures of Shetland - so beautiful. And I loved Corinne’s Flowers of Fortrose vest - just stunning!
Thank you again for another interesting and inspiring shopcast. I always look forward to it. I really love all of the content and I get so excited to see what’s new in the shop. ❤
Jennifer! Your sweater is beautiful. I don’t think anyone would guess you knit that. It’s beautifully finished and looks like it fits you very well. Congrats. Deb from Florida
I'm with you Corinne! Socks + Stripes can easily be on the needles at all times. Love your Rambler pair! I'm looking forward to seeing the next rendition!
I love how the Fortrose vest came out - beautiful! Well done Jennifer - thanks for the finger cots tip! My fingers are ok in the summer but I will try these next winter for sure. Great job on the pictures Ed. Looks like our Rachel finally got some good weather.
What fun FOs and gorgeous pictures from Shetland! I agree with Jennifer that Tuku is wonderful for sweaters-the Stockbridge cardi by Ysolda is one of my favorites.
Another wonderful video! I want to buy all the yarn u guys show us! I need to knit faster as I am running out of space for my yarn stash! Corrine - ur vest came out so pretty! Im glad it fits ur daughter (even tho she isnt knit worthy, LOL). Are u gonna be making ur next vest (to fit u) w/the same pink-y/purple-y colors or are u gonna go a different color direction?? I cant remember if u mentioned it in the video. Maggie - those cat socks look so fun to make! Nice job! I didnt finish even my 1st sock due to my carpal tunnel syndrome acting up! But I will finish them! They're even shorty socks (~ 4" Leg including cuff). Jennifer - very nice job on ur sweater!! The zipper looks so nice on the sweater! I will have to learn putting in a zipper in a future sweater! Ruth & Ed - Im sooo jealous of ur gorgeous Shetland trip! Ur photos were amazing!! I hope u guys had a wonderful trip. I dont know how u couldnt have had so much fun! Going to Shetland is on my very future bucket list! Last year I opened my 1st box from The Christmas Box on Dec 2nd by mistake bcz I got busy on Dec 1st. So my BF & I decided to open the next boxes on every even numbered day & that took us thru Dec 24th & then everything went under the tree on Christmas Morning! Such delighful boxes to open!! I love seeing everyone's projects at the end of the video!
The Fortrose vest is stunning! Congratulations on the FOs and love the WIPS too. I'm also super excited about the 12 Days of Cheer box. Already pre-ordered mine.
I have been watching the Shopcast for a while, and as I am looking forward to starting to do color work, it’s about time I subscribed! Thanks for the show and all the tips and inspiration you all give. ❤
So many lovely things today! Beautiful sweater, Jennifer!!! I love it! It looks so comfy and cozy! And Ruth... WOW, what beautiful pictures! Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see goodies inside the 12 Days of Cheer Box!
Great contribution by Jennifer. Her sweater is gorgeous! I am in love with Corinne's stripy socks. I am eager to get the pattern and of course purchase some more Rambler yarn. Thank you!
I got my socks done - used the Zauberball yarn. Then this morning I decided to gift the socks to a silent auction being held for the husband of a friend who is suffering from severe health issues. I was trying to figure out what to do and I think they will be perfect! Love your podcast.
I love seeing the community reports! Jennifer your sweater is amazing! I've always pushed aside patterns with a zip as too intimidating, but yours looks so good!
Love, love, love your vest! And the colors you selected are magnificent! I can't wait to buy this kit! Please make it available soon. I will be impatiently waiting! :)
Your vest is so beautiful Corrine! Maggie, I hope to knit my first toy soon…… awaiting my copy. I think I need a Lanark sweater like Jennifer’s. And many thanks to Ruth for taking us on vacation. Be well ladies!
I always get lots of knitting ideas watching your podcast. I love the stripe socks and must give them a go. Looking forward to your vest pattern. Will be a good stash buster for my Shetland yarn
Ohhh Corinne! I love your vest just as it is! I hope you don’t change anything with the neckline, the flower row placement for it is perfect and I love that it is higher, almost a little bit like a boatneck. The two row edge to it is just right too. Just gorgeous and not the cookie cutter scoop neck most fair isle vests have! Another excellent design! Hope you have a restful and joyful vacation! Ruth and her hubs Shetland photos are gorgeous!! Many thanks to them for sharing!
Your vest is stunning! Thank you for all the “yarn talk” … I wish Oklahoma was closer to you so I could be a regular “in person” shopper at your store 🧶🧶🌸
Thank you for all the sockspiration. And WOW!!! The FOF Vest is incredible! I see a sweater and cardigan following! Can not wait to knit this- let me know when you need testers😉. I am also loving the shorter weekly episodes! Thanks for all you do!
There's something so special with how much effort TWT makes in bringing together community. There is never a time I walk away from this shopcast not feeling inspired and genuinely part of that community. Thank you for all of your effort! It's much appreciated by us all I'm sure.
Love the vest, looking forward to that, nice . Jennifers segment was very nice indeed, good tip, I have the same problem with my fingers. And a vintage sweater for Christmas…..I had that in mined for a few years now, know exactly what pattern I want to make ( and have more on my list). Maybe this year. Pitty I can not join your Kal, I definitely would buy at TWT, because you all are great companions, but it seems odd to me to buy yarn that is close to me from far away. It need to be shipped twice. But I watch you all the time and just knit along just for fun. Because that is what you are creating with your podcast, knitting is fun and we are all in the same boat. No matter where we from, knitting is universal and everybody can join in.
Corinne, love the Fortrose vest and Color Kudos to Maggie for her selection input! So perfect to see those rows of flowers marching around on your mannequin-one idea might be to lower the armholes just a bit for layering…(🤭) As always your enthusiasm is so contagious, keep on knitting!🧶
The Sock Sprint inspired me to work on the German Short Row Heel, and I too used The Sock Project (love the book) directions. I knit three shortie socks up to the heels to figure out the pattern.. Now I have three socks to finish, but I am at the easy part. Thanks for a great Shopcast.
Maggie, I have not made the second of the sheep socks from Stone Knits because I couldn't get the heel right. But you have inspired me to get on it! I prefer knitting my leg on the 9" (or with some brands 10" singular) shortie circular needles. Then at the heel (I almost always use heel flap and gusset) I switch to dpns. I ordered The Sock Project from Summer Lee TWICE somehow (didn't mean to) before it was even out. I gave one to a lady I taught to knit socks. This month Summer Lee has started a sock a month club which I signed up for as soon as I could. Her book is wonderful! Also, I have never done steeks, but I LOVE the vest, Corrine! I hope to knit it as soon as it comes available! Thank you all for all the information you give. My knitting has geometrically grown and improved since I found TWT by watching Emma's podcast. And Jennifer's sweater is amazing! Thank you for such an enjoyable podcast.
Thank you guys for the lovely peek at the Tukuwool! It was just the reminder that I needed to buy the Tuku yarn that I need for the sweater KAL starting soon. Super super excited about that! My first colorwork sweater AND my first steek job- I’m all in, wish me luck! Cannot wait! 🎉
