Wedding season is just round the corner and I am starting a new Wedding Shopping Series on my channel. For reference as to what a pure banarasi handloom looks like, refer to the red benarasi dupatta worn by Deepika Padukone after her wedding. That's how an original looks like. Unfortunately most of the benarasi dupatta or saree that we find in the market today are made using Chinese silk yarn which makes it look shiny but the cloth is thin. It's also cheaper than making an original one as most people can't/don't buy the original handicrafts due to high cost. Nevertheless, prices are demand driven. If Indian customers become aware and demand the original Benarasi cloth, our skilled weaves will surely rise to the occasion.

also using moti and gems , I have never seen anyone using moti in silk? now i get why kajwaram silk saree are more popular because those have kept it orginal moreover those are very light and can easily be worn in weeding unlike varansi and other lengha which in north these days people wear are veryy heave with lot of glittery shiny things on them makes uncofortable, mainly the rajsthani ones

That yellow saree is neither ikkat nor Baluchari. Ikkat is from Odisha, Baluchari is from West Bengal. Both are very different sarees. And Kanchipuram will not be that cheap, ever. Not even with your own factory or workers, whatever that means.

Hand woven sarees are expensive, coz each saree takes a weaver almost 20-25 days..That’s why the pricing is justified. The machine made ones cost less. Yeah Kanchipuram sarees with pure gold zari are expensive.. Nice collection👍🏼

You have a great test however if you're endorsing any store or product please check the validity of the store too as the names of the sarees this guy threw around were nowhere close to the sarees he was showing. Its an insult to call these sarees as Banarasi or Katan silk or Kanchipuram is an insult to the workmanship that goes in making those original sarees. I understand this is not your fault as you might not be aware of the genuine products however please do some research before promoting such businesses to keep the standard of your videos as you always do. BTW I love all your work.

Very helpful comment. How can you tell what is real banasree just from video? I can usually tell if I'm in person and touch the fabric but in video its much harder to notice. :/

Real Banarsi sarees are handwoven and would never have a fine finishing like the fake one. Also the amount of effort it takes and after going through resellers it will never be this cheap

I really like your video and found very helpful but this time I'm disappointed. I was also looking for banarasi as I have huge crush over different types of sarees belong to different states. But this shopkeeper is not displaying real Banarasee. He is not showing genuine Kanchipuram and Banarasee. All are fake material.

If you are uncertain look for silk mark or handloom mark. Ikkat is a technic where the thread is coloured according to pattern and then woven. Baluchari is traditional silk from West Bengal .

Hi Desi girl ji.. I love your videos and must've watched almost every video.. I've jotted down important things to keep in mind while wedding shopping (though me getting married is light years away 😝😝.. ) And I wanna be honest about Kancheepuram silk(otherwise called kanchipattu) - it's very rich, elegant and royal.. the ones he's showing u both ikkat( otherwise called ponchampally pattu) are much more costly and different because of their purity of zari( gold threads used in weaving/ border) However, you've got great taste 😁😁💐, almost matches my preferences as well.. Great pick today 👌👌

Kanchipuram sarees are mostly hand weaved....here may be he shown machine made saree In kanchipuram saree the zari is made from pure gold or silver...he was showing the fakes.....the weavers doesnt sells the saree in that price

i bought these most of the saari's which you have shown in your video in much cheaper prices from pune and the silk was same .i bought for my brother wedding..that sabyasachi saari i saw in pune shop too that was too cheap here but in your video 2,3 saari's and 2 lehangas were really beautifull which i didnt see here .rest of all are overpriced and one banarsi lehanga which was quoto 23k in your video was around worth of 5k here

Pls don't buy banarasi lahanga and banarasi sari from Delhi bcs cost is too high. You can get these in half rate and the pink saari he is telling 6600 is very high. The original price is 3500. these people making fool on banarasi stuff. Lehanga price is too high you can get at 5000 rps in Varanasi at any shop. Don't go for this vedio

In Kanchipuram the light weight sari comes from min 7000 ra it goes to lacs he is showing duplicate its not pure silk they are mixed with other materials.
