We all get into ruts and go through difficult times, especially as our kids grow up and empty our safe little nests we’ve built for them. I’m going through that right now and it’s hard on a mom! You are not alone. So many RU-vidrs have felt the same way. Many, in fact, that I watch at one time or another have said the same thing and have done the same thing. They have gone back to enjoying what they film, how they set it up,etc. they have gone back to what gives themselves joy and have quit worrying about the other stuff. It’s almost like RU-vid wants to suck the joy out of a channel. You do you is what I say. I have learned through the years that I will do what makes me happy and content and I try to pass that along to the younger generation. When you are young or trying something new you want to please everyone. When something becomes “work “ try something different especially when you are no longer enjoying it 😊❤

Years ago I was struggling with some issues at my job and life, and a very wise old friend who was a retired pastor gave me this advice: "Never let them steal your joy." I hope you always keep yours. I like your chatty videos. Just an FYI - the egg timer is in an old bobbin that was used in textile mills. They stopped using the wooden ones many years ago.

When i found your channel i would look forward to your weekly video. When i was very sick living in a very small isolated community you helped me each week 'thrift"with you. ❤ Your the same age as my children and wish they were as brave as you are to have a YT channel. I think you are delightful to watch your dedication to your family reminds me of my daughter. She was devoted to her kids and grandkids. That was her joy. She crocheted. It started be cause lupus was affecting her hands dexterity. She became very skilled. We all have a piece of her crochet or macrame or scrapbook. We were blessed for 52 years. I love you as a thrifter because you are thrifting for YOU, and not just churning things out. I love watching your hauls and discussions of objects, etc. Dont really follow other thrifters, because their relationship is all about money. That's a really different idea-just picking up something that is worth the most, not because you love it and want to spend time enjoying it.

I hear so many saying the same things about YT and although I’m sorry that you are struggling with it, it’s nice to know it’s not just a struggle for the smaller channels. 😊 YT can be very frustrating and I think they are trying to sway viewers in the direction they want them to go. Fight it and do what you want! 😊 Everyone likes different things and you can’t please them all and you certainly can’t always please the algorithm. Personally I enjoy the chat and the hauls more than the actual thrifting. However I always play your whole video. 😊💜

Nicole! I found your channel when my mom watched it and she got cancer and was on hospice. That was in 2021. I have watched ever since. I love the hauls and talking. I think RU-vid wants to push longer videos, ones with very long multi ads and when you promote specific products. I like you don’t do that as I have stopped watching other RU-vidrs that do because then it comes across more of them being phony and not real. You are doing great! Don’t give up!!

I started watching your videos during the Covid lockdowns. I enjoy your family very much. I’ve noticed that you do less with your family now but I understand they’ve all grown & moved away! It is always fun for me to watch what someone has for a haul. I hear you talk about your collections and I think a fun video would be too actually focus on a collection. Show us the whole collection. I like your videos.

I totally enjoy your chatting. I work from home and am by myself for about 10 hrs a day other than my bog. Having videos of people just being people in the background where I am able to listen and feel like I am involved. You do you and those who enjoy it will stick around. The rest can move on.

Your channel, Moss Family TV, Mandy in the Making and Thrifter Junker Vintage Hunter. I watch a few others on bad weather days, but you four YT channels are my favorites. hello nicole! i don't comment often because i know how hard it is for you to read through all of these, but i have been watching your channels pretty much from the beginning--from graduations, to children leaving the nest for college, to the long days of COVID when everyone seemed to be working from home and in and out of quarantine, to you sharing your sweet fur babies Daisy and Homer, to your hysterical family "thrift-with-me's" with your sweet girls, to the days when you still had your ETSY shop and how much work it entailed and then to the beginning of your own "retail space" at the Pink Elephant...i used to love your "late night live" episodes crafting and putting together your assemblage projects and figuring out the early days of chalk paint (those were the days i used to comment all the time)...listening to you chat about your mom and your family and how much they mean to you...all of these and more are the things that keep me coming back to listen/watch your channels faithfully...we all have off days and shouldn't beat ourselves up over them--nor let anyone out there make us feel guilty about them...BRAVO to you and thank you for sharing just a little ray of sunshine with your "fans" all this time...please know how much you're appreciated and how much you give to us each time you post😍...make it a great day and i know we're all looking forward to your next installment🤗....and i agree--if we lived closer i know we'd enjoy sitting down together, sharing a cup of coffee/tea and a decadent pastry of some type, and having a lovely chat...your "old friend" Karen from Central New York....

Nicole you brought up a good point. Peoples taste changes sometimes and that's true for me. I'm a crafter and mostly it's for myself or I give my projects away. Anyway, recently I became obsessed with junk journaling something I knew nothing about. So I stopped watching most of my usual channels and subscribed to so many journaling channels for knowledge and I was in love with it. I'm just now getting back to some of my regulars. So thanks for the trip and talk. We do care about the people we watch. At least I do. One of my crafters just lost her 29 year old son to cancer. I love the lizard so much. I own reptiles 🥰 I understand completely about RU-vid. I started my channel almost 8 years ago and it never has took off and a lot of that boils down to me and not being able to do videos consistently due to my health. I love the friendships I’ve made though. I would love to sit down and have coffee with you one day and then have a day of thrifting. You’re definitely my thrifting soul sister.
