Chatuchak Weekend Market is accessible via BTS also. If you are catching the skytrain from Phaya Thai or Ratchathewi stations, then you need to get down at Mo Chit BTS station. It's also accessible via MRT(subway) from other parts of the city where you can get down at either Khampaeng Phet or at Chatuchak Park stations. Infact its kinda accessible from DMK Airport too via SRT Dark Red Line where you need to get down at Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal(formerly Bang Sue Grand station). It's the largest railway station in South East Asia which was fully opened in January 2023.
Food court is there too in Mixt Chatuchak and also in JJ Mall. Pet Zone, Pet Market and Aquarium Centre are behind Mixt Chatuchak. Not required to visit.
It was formerly known as Phahonyothin Market. It was renamed to Chatuchak Market in 1987. MRT station to get down at Union Mall is 'Phahonyothin station' and there is an Art Space called 'Metro Art' in that MRT station, where you can check out some art work and also take some cool photos. It was opened earlier this year and I'm not sure if its still there. Union mall can also be accessed via BTS too where you can get down at Ha Yaek Lat Phrao Station and walk on the skywalk. CentralPlaza Ladprao mall is also located there where you can get nice japanese foods like Katsu in MAISEN and Katsu curry in CoCo ICHIBANYA. Katsuya restaurant is also there, where you once ordered Katsu for home delivery in 2019. Chatuchak and LadPrao areas were badly flooded during the 2011 floods. Those videos are still there on YT. Infact it was slightly flooded during 2022 rainy season also around October. May be reaching the airport early is a good option depending on the weather.
