I took a shuttle bus, which runs thrice daily from Berlin to the Polish market town of Osinów Dolny, Niederwutzen, though many Germans also cross the border in their own cars or motorhomes. As commodities like petrol and gas, cigarettes, household items, cleaning supplies etc are way cheaper here than in Germany, it's no surprise that Germans travel to this market to stock up on their weekly supplies. Besides several market halls, outdoor stalls, restaurants and various service providers, nearby is also a mini golf course and a campsite.
An interesting thing I noticed there was that due to the location of the market, directly on the Polish border, Polish laws apply there. This is clearly reflected in the range of goods being sold, such as in addition to weapons, counterfeit branded goods and Polish firecrackers, one can also find stamps with Hitler's image on them! This was a shock for sure...! 😅
