Teacher Catalina: This class was spectacular. This helps your students a lot. We can already understand how to shop Spanish-speaking countries and we will not faint when we hear that a small loaf cost 3000
This was such a useful lesson! Thank you so much for your time, your energy, and your innovation to teach Spanish! We so appreaciate it as we continue to homeschool our children.
Hola John 👋🏽. So glad you joined us for this lesson :). I love love love to see you are paying attention ;) and I won’t lie ... I looked over 10:30 just to make sure ... but here’s the thing ..: ready for a quick lesson? 😊 Millón has an accent but when it becomes millones it does not. :) it has to do with accentuation rules in Spanish. For example, the stress on the vowel on millón falls in the last syllable. When that happens we have to write an accent if the word ends on “n, s or a vowel” which in this case it does :) so millón has an accent. Now, millones. The stress falls in the second to last syllable. In that case we only write an accent on the vowel, if the word does not end in (n, s or vowel). In this case since millones ends in s we do not write an accent. Here are other examples: Camión: stress on the last syllable ... and ends in n therefore written accent required. Camioneta: stress on the second to last syllable but it ends in vowel so no accent. Now check this one John: Lápiz: stress on second to last syllable but since it doesn’t end in n s or vowel it does require an accent. The same thing happens with árbol (tree). You just gave me an idea for another video topic :).Muchas gracias amigo. Hope this helps and as always thank you so much for seriously paying attention!!! It’s impressive 👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. You are doing phenomenal and we are super proud of you. All three of us 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Teacher Catalina Spanish Teacher thank you so much for a thorough explanation. I am eating sleeping and living Spanish at the moment and maybe I need to step back a little and have a break from all the different streams of learning I’m currently undertaking. I want to be able to be fluent like yesteryear! Keep up the excellent work team
Ja ja ... no please don’t stop. You are seriously doing amazing and we appreciate the comments and feedback so much! Plus, ... let’s be real ... we are not perfect and we also make mistakes therefore, we are super happy when someone catches them so we can correct them OR when we can make a learning opportunity out of them or any situation. Keep up the good work! With your dedication We don’t doubt it will pay off very quickly. Saludos, Catalina, Baba and Profe Nano
