Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: When I die, I plan to do a "fly by" to the Rock Shed on my way to heaven!!! Love those cutting vids!!!
I totally agree with you-The Rock Shed has the BEST rough material! I was just there at the beginning of August and filled up three of their little shopping baskets!
Maybe one day we will become as half as good as you are Picking Rocks, Gems and Minerals. You are very very very Talented /Skillful, and your creative designs are stunning. Du to our ♿ ♿ Disabilities, that is about the best way for us to Rockhound- Purchase online and from You The Tubers. We do Rockhound-but just around our neighborhood and where can trek with our electric wheelchairs. We have to be very cautious due to OUR 47yr old SON being a Tetraplegic.
Well you all have heard the comment if I won the lottery I would find a small cabin close to this build a bigger building for all my lapidary supplies and polish my little heart out oh that would be fun to carve some angel light I think that' s what you called it because it was so soft..... Well I finally figured out what I want to be when I grow up I'm 70 now so I'd be happy in that little cabin with all my rocks and first I got to play the lotto though.... One thing I love though is how much you both enjoy being together and plan and picking up those rocks that's the best part...
I just got back from the open house and watched the rest of this video. Ohhh my goodness! Labradorite, sodalits and all the rest that you sliced are breathtaking.
I love the Rock Shed! I stopped there when I drove through the area last February. It was so cold outside that I was only able to tolerate frozen fingers, toes, and nose for about an hour... yet I still managed to spend $333.33! I also purchased some labradorite, and I seen can confirm how absolutely amazing it is!
Was just there a couple weeks ago and even though we struck out on finding Montana agates ourselves because the Yellowstone River was too high, the Rock Shed had what we wanted!
That was really fun, and really satisfying to see how you went about cutting slab’s, especially w/labradorite. Such a fave, always wondered about the cutting angle decision process. Ty for taking me to The Shed and back to the shop!
Wow! Those were absolutely gorgeous! I'm still new at tumbling but if I knew how and had the equipment, I would definitely do that! Great finds and wish you good luck at the show 👍👍😊😃
Wow! So many beautiful labradorite, they are mesmerizing! I would like to ask you if you sometime cut or grind some of the slab edges, especially the ones at the top of the best viewing angles? I'm asking because labradorites are formed with multiple layers from clear, colored, smokey and some more opaque ones. And as with any stone, it needs light to reveal its beauty. But if the edges are opaque it leaves only the light hitting the cut slab portion to reveal the colors... And if you happen to cut through a smokey layer, the light doesn't get to reach all the layers and limits the possible viewing angles the colors get to be seen... Because when the light gets through some clear side angles, it's the hole piece interior that gets lit which allows many internal layers that formed with a different angle to shine and reflect as well! But you've probably done it with other stones in previous videos that I haven't had a chance to see yet. It's the first time your video gets suggested to me 😊 And this rock shed place is a stone cutter paradise! Enjoy them all! Thanks!
I am a huge fan of labradorite! I am bummed that they are sold out of it on the website. That is the most colorful labradorite I have ever seen this side of spectrolite! DAMN! Well at least I know the Rockshed exists and will keep my eye out for that! Thanks Theo!
Great video. Next time linger and lets see more of what they have. Like agates. I can only imagine how much more money i pay not knowing about places like that. New life goal=must visit the rock shed for like 10 hours 😊
Wow! Those slabs of labradorite were just phenomenal! And the tigers eye too wow! Suck beautiful rocks and you slabbed them perfectly! Just wow! It was just a giddy surprise, to see the slabs as you lifted then up! And the purple labradorite is my absolute favorite and those are just amazing! What an awesome amount of rock you got at the rock shed, but more than that, the quality is unbelievable! So good! Thank you Theo, for the outing and the cutting and i cant wait to see what you have left, after the show!
As a Kid i have always liked TIGERS EYE!!! Now that I am way older, and seeing your slabs of Blue AND Gold Tiger Eye is Absolutely a Beautiful Creation as well as them Other Gems you have Slabbed. I wonder how they will choose for us slabs should we order. How is the Richardsons Ranch in Oregon compared to the Rock Shed, due to our fix income=BUDGET!
The Rock Shed is on my bucket list! I’d be like a fat kid in a one cent candy store!! Everything you bought is amazing but that Labradorite….freakin gorgeous….I’m a sucker for purple too. Thanks so much Theo for taking us along on this fantastic buying adventure. Cannot wait to see your wizardry in what you create.
Just fricken amazing I have a huge labradorite with awesome flash no way of cutting it so I might just polish the hole thing and see how that turns out great video as always the rock shed rocks
Oh my word, these slabs are so GORGEOUS!!Labradorite, tigers eye( never saw the blue) ! Love the intensity of blue on the sodalite What a fantastic rock store! I’d go crazy there😆 Awesome video Theo!
The Rock Shed makes me drool just watching this! Thanks for taking us along Theo! Question, if you could only afford one, would you get a flat lap or a slant cabber, assuming both are the same size?
Dude. If you want to check out a killer rock shop, make your way to Wisconsin and check out The Gem Shop in Cedarburg. It's local for me. :) And while you're at it you could do some hunting on Lake Michigan. You can't go wrong. The rock shed looks amazing too!! I'm, telling you though, get to Wisconsin, you won't regret it.
Good rocks. It looks like a neat place. Excellent cuts on the tiger eye and the labradorite. Keep the fun coming and the rocks shining. Have fun you two. 😊 😷⚒
If you think that place is awesome, you should go to the rock shop in Cave Junction Oregon. It will blow your mind, buddy. P.s. I'm saving for a trip to Billings. Do you ever go adventuring with your viewers? Cuz, that would be fantastical
Such beautiful pieces today. I can't wait to see more ❤ I think the dark blue sodalite was my favorite. Especially since my fave colors are blue and purple.
I won't be able to come to the rock and mineral show. Will there be items for sale online while you are there? Or only on your Etsy shop afterwards if everything doesn't sell? You got some gorgeous rocks from the Rock Shed!
