Shopping the NORDSTROM Anniversary SALE at the THRIFT STORE| 

I’d like to see you guys “mix patterns” for the fall trends…and ladies don’t overlook men’s suits, trousers, shirts! The suits /jackets/trousers can be easily altered and tailored. Nothing beats a beautiful loose fitting tailored suit. And things can always be transformed by a simple change in buttons, or “cut off” - maybe you like the top of a dress but not the bottom or “vice versa”🤷🏽‍♀️… I’m still a chic “black/grey/olive/neutrals” woman with pops of color - mainly. However I do enjoy an a great piece in an unexpected color. Guess it’s the “New York’er” thing in me😃 I keep telling you guys - stop knocking Dana Buchman!😁

I agree I seen so much hype for the Nordstrom sale but I never understood it. I mean yes it’ll be nice to have some pieces but I think it’s more for the brand then the actual clothing. All I saw was basics. I’m no hater people can buy whatever they please but it’s more fun to thrift it’s like a treasure hunt.. also I kid u not I get more compliments on my thrifted finds then things I find at a regular store pretty funny huh?! Love u ladies so so much

You silly girls! Love ya. I worked for Nordstrom for 20 yrs. doing the windows and then later in our shop building props and sets for fashion shows and special events, like the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. The buildup to the beginning of the sale was wild. Most of the action was behind the scenes where the stock rooms were. They were packed to the gills with fall winter merchandise. Our window displays teased with what was to come. There was a color theme et al. Then the day before the sale started there this crazy rally, kinda like a silly circus where departments did skits, the goofier the better, a lot of rah rah, balloons all designed to get the employees wound up for the next day and the figures they were challenged to reach. There were golf carts that shuttled customers from their cars out in the parking lot to shop themselves crazy. The store floor was packed with merchandise and customers. As your basic dummie dressers (that's a little sarcastic title) we got 20% discount and yes employees probably spent as much as the public. It was a good time for winter coats and shoes. This craziness went on for 2 weeks. It was also a time to pickup the store profit wise before heading into the holiday season. I worked there in the crazy 1980 and 90's when people shopped alot different than they do now. The retail atmosphere is so different then that time. And our hair isn't as big either. Remember those mall doooooos. Aquanet to hold those wacky bangs in place. Ahhhhhhhh. When I got the discount as an employee, it was easier to say ya got a great deal, but I am now a freelance artist that thrifts her wardrobe, her house, her crap....... Have fun you two. At Goodwill I do recognize vendors we carried but the price at Goodwill or Savers is much kinder to my wallet. Shop on and be thrifty! Hey, that could be a t-shirt!!!!!! Hmmmmmmm. love ya, Mary

The fashion industry is always looking ahead a season or two, and coincidentally the best time to thrift something is wayyyy off the season for it. I’ve scored gorgeous winter stuff in a sweat-dripping heat wave, and lovely summer dresses in a blizzard.

I had no idea Nordstrom was having a sale. I never shop there. Everything I'm wearing today including my shoes and bag but excluding my underwear is thrifted. So you know where I've got my priorities.

Such a great idea for this video. I only have 2 blazers. I always wear a cardigan but I am definitely going to try and find some fun blazers!! I did look for woman’s blazers at my local thrift store and there were about 10 so I went to the men’s section and they were mostly suit sets. I’ll look more next time. I must need to make a trip to Vegas for a new wardrobe because our local thrift stores are soo small and have nothing in them!! I also love that every blazer Edwina tried on fit so well! I know how it is to have your daddy’s shoulders!! Lol

Nordstrom sales are expensive AF🤣😂and everything is so trendy…I don’t know; shopping in stores is very unimpressive (IMO.) Sure, some things you can’t get around - have to buy from retail…but true quality, style, “polished perfection” still comes from vintage.💜🦋

I bought some Nordstrom’s stuff that is currently $10 a pair of summer shorts. That is better than Goodwill on a lot of days. I think the point of what they’re doing for the pre-sale is that you can pick items that are on a really good discount and they are good prices but they want you to put your Nordstrom card in to save those items that are pre-sale and I think it’s just simply a way to use your Nordstrom card and then of course they make money off any interest. Or generate sales, it said I was an influencer and I’m definitely not 🤩🤓😆 Btw Shana I love your hair here in this video, it’s one of my favorite looks you do 😍 I’m here for the Chanel Foo-gees Edwina!
