Thanks for the mention john👍 cracking session . I slipped on the rocks at salines once and snapped my rod in half! all down to the excitement of having a big blue hit my lead weight and run as I was retrieving🤦 they are dangerous. I hope you get some more good fish👍
Credit where its due mate. If I had done my due diligence I would have found more of your videos before I went out there tbh. We will definitely he heading back as we fished it hard for a week and barely scratched the surface.
@The Fish Locker there is soo much diversity when it comes to the marks, species and types of fishing in different areas of the island, I'm still finding new marks and thats after over 40 visits🤦 I'm surprised you managed to find space to fish at Salinas as its always packed when I'm out there. I've given up trying to fish it🤦 I'm glad my videos were of help👍 that's what I do it for. All the best John
This is what always fascinated me about sea fishing. The unknown. The sheer variety, size and incredible array of species that “might” just be cruising on by and fancy dining at your table. Excellent video, as per, John. Action, education, and humour. Just like sea fishing, it's what keeps me coming back!!! 😁
I have a moray eel as a family pet. The young kiddos think it's the neatest thing, and it's a great opportunity to not only teach them about aquatic animals, but to make them curious about everything else. Your shows do even more to the last point. They are so curious, and you explaining everything the way you do is bar none the best and most wholesome I've seen short of Nat Geo documentaries. You have a true gift
WOW! Those rays are beautiful! They look so difficult to land and unhook, I'm so glad neither of you slipped and fell, it was almost stressful to watch (especially the night fishing) HAHA! Thanks for the video!
Fantastic session on the rocks John, them stingers were impressive, a glimpse of the Jurassic period!! amazing creatures. Appreciate your efforts bud 👍🏼👍🏼
John we all get excited when we have a big fish on. If you wet yourself, just own it. As you get older it will happen more often. Cheers and thanks for another great video ! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿🤣🤣🤣
Love to see a stingray ! In 1983 I held the junior record for a boat caught stingray ! It was 46 pound 2 ounces from a boat out from west Mersea Essex . I was 13 years old ! Love the channel
Great fishing in an exotic place. What more can a fisherman want. Some awesome catches there John from both of you. All the best to all of you.. Tight lines.
Cracking session lads, fantastic stingers and those white skate are amazing, like some undersea ghost, lets hope their species makes a come back. 16:43 John Locker casually taking his sting ray for a walk 😂
I don't even want to remember. I was wading across a reef flat after snorkling and i stepped on a big one. Drilled me right in the side of my heel. Hurt like blazes for about 90 minutes then it faded away in about 10 seconds. Heat metabolized the venom. I had heard of that treatment and I can testify that it works. Extreme pain to nothing all at once.
Nothing better is there than a good ole screaming run is there and the line buzzing of the reel when you're playing them is there m8 had some nice fish on this one
Thoroughly enjoyed watching your adventures overseas. Well done to the both of you for bringing in some mighty fish. Glad you were all safe, looked like a mark for the experienced. Best wishes to you all, Kev and Co.
Well done to you both for bringing us an amazing video.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Those rays and bonito were awesome.🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣 You work so well together too.👏👏 All I can say is a huge thank you for sharing your experiences.👍👍 Take care and stay safe.😷🙊
If you ever get a chance to show how you pack for an overseas fishing trip I would really enjoy seeing how it's done. Info on what is allowed on flights and how you ensure your rods are safe would be very interesting. Thanks for all the your videos, they're very entertaining and informative.
When I've done it, within the EU anyway it's cheaper to post the rods than put it in excess luggage. Now I've purchased some quality telescopic rods, not the same as your real rods but good enough to throw in your suitcase!
Heart was in my mouth when you were handling the Stingray. I used to catch these in NZ and they are no joke. Two mates of mine get hit with the barb and still have the maks to prove it, they are no joke. They can even curl the tail forward. Flip them over before doing anything to them, they go catatonic.
A master class in how to land, handle and release those massive round stingrays. Always learn something every time I watch one of your videos. Wouldn’t fancy that mark at night though! You and your mate are highly competent anglers. The filming and content were excellent. Thank you both.
Now that is what you call flatfish, thank you for bringing us along with you and your mate, now that was something else, I would love to have seen Jim cook one of those Ray's that would have fed some people.
Lovely to meet you at the SBS boatlife show at the the NEC in Brum. (It was only “oh hello, it’s John isn’t it”) I only said hello but would have loved to have spent some time talking fishing with you but you were totally engaged with others while I was there!😊. BTW thanks for the discount code bye he way we had a tidy discount on entry!
Some nice rays John, I am glad to gave it a go on the Island. The big stingray you caught is the average size on my special mark that I fish and you have got a nice sandy beach to land them on which I will share with you incase you want to go out there again. The baits that you are using, work fantastic live or dead whole, great fishing John Tom
Absolutely fantastic John, wife would not let me fish there on holiday, you lucky ------- great as Al ways ,I really enjoy watching your exploration trips.
Welcome to Canaries. It is a wonderful place. Most people don't take the time to discover it, but I hope you do. Fuerteventura is perhaps one of the least diverse in the ecosystems of the islands, but it is a wonderful place never the less.
Absolutely brilliant that . Brilliant Class just fishing away in the feet That's how to do it . Amazing fishing location I have that same headlight One of the best things I ever bought Brilliant also Thanks
Another class video John! And your mate Tom!, really enjoyed watching. Those 'Borg', lots of them here, it's hard to get through them when trying for the Bream, the Spanish call those Bream, 'Sargoe'. All the best mate. 🎣👍. Mark.
Now thats what i call a holiday ,i always take my smallish telescopic rods with me, I'm happy to catch your baitfish lol ,as they say its not size that matters 🤔 quality upload as usual when you two are together
The best fuerteventura vid love salinas enjoyed that mate you did well in the conditions top shizzle 😎💚🇬🇧 I’m going over there in the autumn Hopefully beat my pb 🤣💪 Loved the foraging vid with your boy lobster 🦞 🔥 🤤 Cheers 🍻
Dream fishing in a cracking climate. Seeing those skate Brought back memories of the Australian guy Steve Erwin I think his name was, who died from the barb from a large ray penetrating his heart, so be very careful lads. Fantastic viewing John and Tom.
I lived there for a year, I remember a Swedish family opened a small cafe. To help her drum up business she handed out flyer's to her potential customers. The local police issued her a fine for doing so but the local Spanish owned clubs, restaurants were allowed to hand them out. Then a few weeks later one evening her windows were smashed she eventually left the island after their 4 year stay there at a massive loss. Its so beautiful there but slightly corrupted imo.
Great fishing lads well done..I'm heading there in 3 weeks time and really appreciate the information on the island..can't wait hopefully I can catch one of the monster's..
Great video......i got a stingray hit once on the hand, by a baby one maybe 30cm wide......the pain was indescribable, never had pain like it (the best thing for a sting is as hot as water you can take, as it helps neutralise the venom).....since that encounter I have a length of 40mm waste pipe.....just shove the pipe up the tail, over the sting, it can't sting you now, as it covered......never been hit since by thrashing tails.
Cracking fish thete john. Had many holidays there with scuba diving. Some huge sharks too. Thoughs, stingrays look a bit tricky and dangerous to unhook. Thanks for sharing.
Diving off the coast of Fuerte ventura really stunned me with how many different and huge rays they have there got lucky and encountered several huge stingray as well as angel sharks in one dive
A stingray almost killed my dad more than 30 years ago, he got stung while free-diving in the black sea and suffered a severe allergic reaction to the venom (full cardio-pulmonary failure), fortunately my mom was able to pull him ashore and keep him alive with basic CPR as family friend rushed them to the nearest hospital (she's an emergency medicine specialist, but still he was very lucky to survive). I know you're an experienced fisherman, but you're often alone and it only takes one strike of bad luck to get stung by venomous sea creatures. In most cases it's not the venom toxicity that kills you, but the anaphylactic shock it can induce, so I advise you to carry an EpiPen in your kit just in case, if you can stay conscious and functional you'll have at least a couple hours to get to a hospital.
Cracking session you had there John. love Salinas, you never know what your going to get with the big rods. Live bogas on slider rigs also excellent rig to use there. Keep up the good work ,your channel is awesome 🎣🦈
Brilliant guys, those stingrays are weird creatures, I'd be knackered after just one of them and I cheat fishing reel down and butt pad haha. Good luck for the rest of the trip 👍
The bonito you caught is called “sierra” and I hope you released it because they can grow up to 4 kilos even 6 some times and the one you caught was roughly a kilo 🇮🇨
@@aithor07xd - Ahhh, so that’s your local name. Because a Sierra Mackerel is not the same thing. The fish we caught was an Atlantic Bonito - Latin name Sarda sarda. A Sierra Mackerel is Scomberomorus sierra. Which is a completely different species. Just google it and you’ll see. 😉
