I usually don't like these videos because I am from Sanibel Island I spent every summer there as a boy I learned how to swim on the shrimp boat I'm not going to say hey my grandfather is because he doesn't like anyone knowing but I will say this my great-grandmother was the third settler on the island and of course turn off the dock of hers we had a little grouper hole which was made by her by throwing a washer and dryer down there... Thank you for the very first video where you show the lights in the morning on the side of the road when I moved down to fort Myers I used to travel that every morning to go to the island and go fishing
Yo! i think I have seen you around this secret spot. Quick question: there's a "no parking anytime" sign at the end of the bridge. Do you know where to park? front entrance is blocked as well. thanks!
Thanks for the video! I'm coming there in June from Colorado. I'll have to look for your secret spot! Too bad about the snook getting away. Do you eat any of those fish?
Lmao I had responded to you thru my phones home screen and I thought you were my cousin from up north. Thats badass tho. I would love to get on some cobia. Never caught one
That’s an awesome video. I am going to Sanibel in a week for vacation with my wife and want to do a little ahore fishing. What can you recommend for bait or lure and is bay side better than gulf side?
Bayside is great if you can get out on the water on a kayak or a skiff. Shore side is great for shark fishing not too much not too much for anything else. I recommend you learn how to cast a net and if you're gonna go with Lures jig heads and paddle tails are great. Tight lines🤙
My go to rig and set up is Penn battle 4 It's a little on the heavy side for the small fish that I catch but I always have it in case I do get on to something big so I don't get outgunned
@@alwayzfishing7580 That is one thing I have realized when watching a lot of videos...you never know what you will hook up. It's the fun and exciting thing about ocean fishing, but also the con if you aren't set up right for the bigger catch! I can't wait to get out there!
@@alwayzfishing7580 yes I know was trying to inform Ronald.I stay at the Seahorse Cottages on Buttonwood Ln. Fish right down the street. Local an handicapped parking only.Ever fish Lakes Park? This guy has it dialed in. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VZWa4z0Ljds.html Have a good 👍 night. Great videos😉
Fun day! Think you found the spot! Thanks for sharing your experience. Little pro tip...I know it's fun standing in the water like a fly fisherman, but you would have landed a lot more fish if you reeled them in on land and onto the beach. If you notice that last minute wiggle when you try to grab them or reach down unhooks them. At least then they would be on land and you still got your fish!
That's how I normally do it but I heard that dragging them onto the beach will damage their protective slim and scales. So I try to keep them in the water. Also they look better for pics lol. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and I appreciate the tip 🤙
