I'm 10 minutes into the video - you're a builder Andy - you'll get over it. I was thinking bending a Gemini link clip to form a big hook above the weight with your pliers and if you had some power gum or a rubber band - use that at the top instead of an SRT spring at the top. It will be interesting to see what your solution is - best of luck !
