I know, right?! They were terrible at naval bombardment for a bit, then zeroed in nicely when the marines started their assault. Better late than never! :)
Those naval bombardments were rough in the beginning, but then the navy dialed in their cannons and came through when we needed it! I'm still concerned about Tripoli raiding. If they get their third ally in the game we could be in serious trouble fast. Should be an interesting finish! :)
I continue to be pleasently surprised by this game. There's a lot more depth in strategy than I first thought. On a seperate note, I noticed Space Empires 4X on your shelf back there. Have you played this game. It has a big following and is highly regarded and I've often considered buying but not yet taken the plunge :)
Yes, every time I play the game I get more surprised by the depth of play. There is more variety and possibility than I imagined at first. ~ Space Empires 4x just arrived this week, so it's still in shrink wrap at the moment. I'm very much looking forward to it, but there is a bit of a backlog at the moment. It might be a bit before it makes the table. I've heard very good things about it. :)
@@soloboardgaming Space Empires 4x, even with just the base game, is incredibly fun! And also surprisingly immersive, since you actually have to haul resources and pay ship maintenance.
I've been very surprised by the depth that the game offers. All of sudden I realized that I was thinking hard about different strategies, and playing out the options in my head. :) Fun to play. :)
Even though your navy forces disappointed in the beginning, they came through at the end! Seems like the US has all the chances to win right now. But we all know that dice luck is flimsy, so it can all shift. But I am positive, that you can bring it home!
Yes, when the marines were on the ground, the frigates came through in the clutch. That was helpful, as a bit of bad luck there could have ended the game for us. I can see so many ways this can go, hard to say how it will turn out, but I've started a positive wave generator for the final episode. :)
