It still boggles my mind how Lucille Ball was responsible for pushing for the second pilot to be made AND for putting up her own money to pay for it - not to mention offering her own production company (Desilu) to produce it, too.
Seeing the Enterprise go to Warp was great, where did you get that shot from? but that's all you did the rest was just replacing the music with TNG Music. Which does not work because WE know it's Next Gen Music & why the Bad Robot credit? Double WTF?
Should not have tampered with music i do not like t n g at all the original is good just the way it is for you to do this is makes me feel you are young and don't understand that some things you don't touch in other words if it ain't broke don't fix it im not trying to be rude just stating my preference
What I've never been able to understand is why NBC ultimately rejected this pilot episode on the grounds that they found it to be "too cerebral".....and then accepted a second pilot episode, "Where No Man Has Gone Before", which in my opinion is actually even more "cerebral" than "The Cage". SMDH 😐🤔🤨
I say this ALL THE TIME - but note the hand gesture and the computer's response. And I like what you've done here, too though some of it seems a bit off.
Richard Sylvanus Thank you very much. I would love to see a new Star Trek Captain Pike show with Anson Mount. So many great stories that could be told.
@@boardman49 Yeah. With all the different spin offs over the years, you'd think someone would do a series with Captain Pike. Another thing that burns my ass is the Star Trek series on CBS Access network that you have to apparently pay for to watch. 😠 Guess if they're any good I'll have to wait for them to come out on DVD.
Richard Sylvanus Welcome to railfanning! It’s not the greatest time to start with the big pandemic, but lots of people are still out there chasing. I think you’ll love it. Thanks for the sub!
@@boardman49 I just watch what's on here. There's a young pup in New Jersey where I grew up who posts new videos of trains every few days. Brings back good memories. The old Jersey Central railroad tracks run right through my hometown. Only run passenger trains through there now but always remember hearing freights running through on those hot muggy nights. Lulled you into a deep sleep. 🥰
The credits were distracting. The music was too heroic, too adventuresome. The music should have been more atmospheric and foreboding. I also do not know why you couldn't have shown the video then discuss the changes at the end. This was Star Trek's first pilot. For nostalgic reasons, it would have been better to leave it alone.
Yusef Endure The music was “stolen” from Star Trek: The Next Generation Season 2 Episode 1in an experimental effort to update the look and sound of a classic 60’s episode and bring it more in line with the late 1980’s.
@@boardman49 Any ST fan is familiar with the music from TNG. I understood your attempted update of the episode. My point is that it did not need any changes. Some things are better left alone.
donald rady It’s been a few years. I can’t remember which font I used, but I was surprised to find that font in my editing software. It was an exact match to the font that was used in other parts of the pilot episode. I should have saved that font on my PC but for some reason I failed to do that. I call it the Old Star Trek font.
