It brought back memories…xt600e…i’ll get another one…I’m 53…that noise of rattling metal when you downshift; it’s only something y-u get with the xt600 😁, but also that riding experience you’ve (possibly) felt from the video…only an XT600E can give you that much power and yet agility at once. I was one of the first people to try the xt660…all was lost; a heavy bike with a different frame…
Is this a good bike for town and some easy off road? Problems with air cooling? Recommend some tyres for on/off road please. I found one from 1999 pretty good condition
Yes it is. I would recommend you getting Metzeler Tourance tyres, good mileage, decent for town, rain and reasonably well performance on dirtroads. The bike is a freaking tank, got it more than 10 years ( xt600e 1999) and went all over Europe with it, no problems at all.
Mitas e07 are like 50/50 on/off imo,the e09 if you're doing more off road ( good choice ). The ktc80 are pretty good off-road. On road the durability is super low, when is raining super scary and really really noisy. I hope it helps. Enjoy your xt, you're gonna love it. :)
Evil Potato I went for a ride in the woods today and it was pretty good untill i reached deep mud.. i wish i had e09 or similar because i couldn't continue much further. It was intense workout but i loved it. Really can't decide betwen 07 and 09. I hope 09 isn't crap on road...
