OP: *starts purling* Me: oh man you’re still doing traditional purls? I just learned this nifty purl that goes SO QUICKLY, I don’t actually dread purling continental anymore!! Op: *starts doing Norwegian Purl* Me: YEEEAAAAAAAAAAAH

I actually do switch between my standard purls and Norwegian purls from time yo time to prevent muscle & joint fatigue. I'm most comfortable with demoing using my standard purls, though so that's what I use when I'm filming. The Norwegian purls are a nice change, though. 😉

Your yarn looks so neat. Does using better quality yarn make a difference? My yarn is sock yarn, but I am having trouble knitting with it. What yarn are you using? Thank you for this tutorial. Hopefully it will help me make beautiful socks like yours. I just checked out your yarn. Boy I didn't know yarn was so expensive. I will have to pass on buying your yarn.

Thank you! Better quality yarn can make it a little more enjoyable, but the biggest difference is just practice working with it. It’s thinner than a worsted-weight and the needles are smaller so it can take some getting used to if you mostly work with heavier yarn. Sock-weight happens to be my favorite weight & I’ve used it almost exclusively for about 14 years so I have a lot of practice with it. Just keep trying projects with it & you’ll get more comfortable as you work with it more. Good luck with your sock knitting, I’m happy my tutorials have helped! 💕

What size needles are you using and how do you know when to start your heel? Thank you and Godbless you.

I’m using a US size 0 (2.0 mm) in this video, but I sometimes use a US size 1 (2.25 mm) if the fabric is too tight on the 0’s. I’m a very loose knitter though, so I regularly go down 2 needle sizes from what is recommended in patterns. Typically in adult socks with a short-row heel like these you’ll want to start the heel when the length from the tip of the toe is about 1.5”-2” (4-5 cm) shorter than the total length of sock. So, if you’re wanting a sock to fit a 10” long foot you would add the heel when the sock is about 8” long. Did that make sense? (I hope so. 💕)

Nice!! So glad the pattern and tutorial videos have been helpful. (I've got some Hawthorne, too & i love it! Great value for such pretty yarn.) Have fun with the heel, it's always exciting when it starts looking like a real sock & not just a tube! ^_^

The volume is very low. I'm not able to hear.

You might need to adjust the volume either in your youtube settings or on your device (or both?). I haven't heard from anyone else about a problem with the video's volume which is why i think it must be something on your player.
