nice car but one thing i hate from the gen is just the seating cause front seat has no adjusting headrest and the weird 3 split second row that doesn't have folding cupholder armrest but still i think has better styling than gm suvs from the same era
i just purchased a 04 eddie bauer, put a k/n high flo air filter and a dvd player . these things have a built in sub woofer in them !!! these things are the king of the road and in love it !!!
Life's been good to me so far.. great song to play in the background while doing the interior review. I own a 2011, 155,000 miles going strong. Great vehicle for what it's designed for.

Eddie Bauer is the name of a company that designs trim levels such as the Ford Eddie Bauer trim levels, they're more luxurious than the regular vehicle designs. They also make clothing and back packs and some different things.
this is the best generation of the expedition line ! the style is classy but kind of tough & can get the job done (: i like it better than the new ones .
DANG! 220k MILES?! That's alot for an average Expedition. I remember reading somewhere that the 5.4's like to spit spark plugs. This one looks to be in good shape.
Would be a good next vehicle for me. Saw one for 5k not too long ago little bit newer with 200k+ miles. If I can find one next year about the same price I'd sell my Rav4 outright and go buy that Expedition in a heartbeat as I currently have an 05 Rav4 S as a first car will probably keep that a year or so. Then hopefully trade it in for something like the Expedition. (I Hope) lol.
@adiosk8r91 i know the steering wheel is bad, but there is nothing wrong with the console and the engine sound fine. for the miles this is in extremely good shape
@adiosk8r91 The engine sounds strong on this. No odd sounds; only thing you hear is the injectors (Normal for Fords and some others. Nothing is wrong or weak on this). Other than that, this motor sounds great.
I always wondered what some people do when you see recent vehicles with these high ass miles. They drove this thing so much the steering wheel is about to fall apart lol
@braydenmartindale I know that the Excursion and Expedition are different. One is based off a Super duty truck and the other is based off what I believe to be the F-150 (Not sure). It was late so I did not note that you are talking about a Different truck. I went through Oklahoma and Arizona. Too places with horrid roads and I was fine.
@Tbolt1000TForLife ummm, you'd be surprised, in 2004 with the IRS these "things' could tow 8,900 lbs, more than the tahoe/yukon 1500 (7,600lbs), these things may be gas guzzlers but they are hella reliable.....I have had 5 since 96, and I currently has a 2011, and a 2003, the 2003 has 201,000 miles on her and still running strong, only thing I've had to do was put on a new altenator, that's it. These things are really reliable, and they are good offroad as well. don't let the IRS fool you.
@adiosk8r91 are you kidding, this 5.4 sounds great has a lot of life left in it, i'm am a ASE certified technician and I can honestly say this is one of the best SUVs on the road today. Do you even know what a engine is suppose to sound like, I don't think you do because this engine is working perfectly. ON all 8 cylinders that is. and besides the steering wheel and console that interior is in good condition this behemoth has 217,000 miles on it, more than 4 tahoes can accumulate in a lifetime.
Does anyone know how to connect to aux or if it works? My expidition has a DVD player and it says aux in the DVD and has a place to put the aux cable I just don't know how to make it work.
@GmTruckCarLove The Excursion and Expedition are totally different vehicles, which one are you talking about? At first you said Expedition, I know our Police CARS have different suspension, but I believe our suspensions are left stock, civilian grade in the trucks as their not made for pursuits and stuff. I mean in comparison to a regular car, the suspension makes a huge difference on bumpy roads.If your on smooth bump-less roads then you won't notice, but not all roads are smooth, most arent.
I have a 04 expedition and a 06 Cadillac DTS and I am going to sell the DTS with only 135K on it because the expedition while it has issues are less than the dang DTS. 230K on the expedition and it sounds 100% better than the DTS. Just watch the Expedition bottom radiator supports because they rust BAD.
@pmgodfrey it doesn't cost 100$ to fill it up....and it gets you 415 miles on a tank.....lol I see you are just trying to deter her lol....I know from experience because I've had all body styles of these and currently have a 03 and 011, that they DO NOT take 100$ to fill up, more along the line of 65-70....lol....
@@grimceo1138 Jeez don't remind me, July 2020 was such a cheaper time and that's when it used to take 60ish bucks to fill up my 04 Eddie Bauer 5.4L, but not anymore I rarely drive it now
@cames2222 260 hp and 350 lb ft of torque is plenty, after all it's not the horsepower that maters when you have a 5,400 lbs SUV, it's the torque and this 5.4 has plenty of it.
@Tbolt1000TForLife Believe it or not buddy, articulation isn't really that much of a "hurt factor" as long as you have the right differentials.....My 2003 expedition has advance trac....and it alone sends power the the wheels with the most traction....in addition to the limited slip diffs.....I guess you won't understand until you actually go offroading in one, which is understandable lol....IRS and IFS are very deterring
I HATE mine! I have had it less than 4 months. I have had to replace the front passenger window regulator, all new front end suspension, vehicle security module went out, it burned 7 quarts of oil in 3,000 miles. I took it to the mechanic and he saw oil in the intake manifold. He took care of that and I’ll bring it back to him after a 1000 miles. I bought it because it was a prior police SUV and I thought that they would take great care of it, so it would last longer. This had been by far my worst car and I’ve had 15 of them.
@kendrickevans301 Apparently you failed math. 28 gallon fuel tank. $3.879 per gallon (price as of tonight, in St. Louis, Missouri). That would equal $108.61 to fill up. I had two gallons left in it the other day when it was $3.899. It cost $101.37...I have the receipt. That was for regular. Not mid-grade or premium. The DTE reset to display 344 miles to empty. I'm all city driving...hardly any highway. Could you possibly say "lol" anymore in your comment?
@kendrickevans301 i have heard they are nice suv's, but the have too muck nose dive to them, oh well, at least it helps to drasticly reduce the center of gravity, and likley does a damn good job of it lol
@adiosk8r91 If you would have checked their website you would know they're selling this for 7 grand. As for the shape of the car, I consider it in good shape for the mileage and vocation of this car (family hauler), I've seen more recent Caravans in much worst shape..
Too bad for my grandmother's '03 Expedition XLT. It has a blown engine and is not even repaired. It doesn't even cost $1000.00. It also has no headlights and the engine compartment is empty. The interior stinks. I just hope it is fixed. They plan to make it a diesel.
@yellowcow13 No you wouldn't. It goes through fuel at an unbelievable rate. It will cost you about $100 to fill your tank -- and that only gets you about 390 miles on average. Believe me -- I have an 04' Eddie Bauer with sunroof and the towing package. I wish I never bought it...but who would buy one of these now?
