6:05 This is exactly why I like playing with pips! They help me disguise my weakness - and are more forgiving!

6:34 I actually prefer the pips on my forehand! I just started with them - so because I prefer hitting backhands, I can make sure I am getting my forehand on the table - taking spin away from my opponent and also allowing myself to hit with more of an open racquet face than I otherwise would have been able to - and still get the ball on the table - and have it come through flatter!

I play on BH Spinlord Wyvern with 1.8mm. At the beginning it took a little getting used to. Afterwards I find this rubber very pleasant. He can especially take the pace out of passive blocking. Another advantage, the serve. I use fast backhand serves with different rotation. This is a headache for the opponent, thanks to Wyvern's grip.

Woman in the video: 1 - After performing the movement with the racket, immediately move your arm to an initial position. 2 - On the backhand, don't use your forearm as much (with your arm tense) and instead, use your wrist more (with your arm relaxed, so the pips can do a better effect). 3 - Don't hit the ball so much with your backhand. The more you rub the ball with the pips diagonally, the more erratic spin it will have (if the pips are aligned vertically). 4 - The main problem you have when trying to do forehand topspin is your movement: you start with your forearm at 90 degrees with your elbow close to your waist, you end with the racket at the height of your chin, and generally you put your left foot in front , blocking the movement of your waist. The angle with which you impact your raquet on the ball is then very open and the ball tends to rise and not fall on your opponent's playing surface. Start with your arm hanging, relaxed, next to your leg, leave 5 fingers of space between your elbow and waist at all times, move your left foot back a little more, use your waist more than your arm, and finish the topspin with your racket close to your forehead.

I (penholder) found medium pips (563, 1.5mm) to be more versatile than my previous ak-47 1.8mm for everything except serving but that could be circumvented by using deception and serve variarion. Its a fascinating type of rubber that more oeople should give a go

@@jrk1666 I cannot use 563 in full (on my bh). I found it to bounchy. It's chop on the table is good and stable though. Playing with 563 also ruins my play with long pips which what I've been using for my primary weapon.

So, is Friendship 563 a medium pip rubber or short pip rubber? That’s the one which I use. Thanks.
