I was also going to point out about the cheeks clapping QTE as well but you pointed that out already. Can't believe they nerfed the best part of Ishin. :(
Turning off the card system for yourself is all well and good, but what about the bosses? If they keep their own cards no matter what, it'd just make the combat too much of a ballache. Option to turn them off completely for a classic mode that replicates the original game experience would be a good idea
The bosses used the cards regardless of whether you used it or not. Thankfully, you could block them with a sword. So as long as you know what you are doing, it is still fair.
It's not all that bad, I'm in like Chapter 8 or so and only two bosses have used cards. The cards are easy to dodge as long as you pay attention. Right now, the biggest struggle has been defeating the Master of the Swordsman style (which is side content)
